And now? Camdenton lost. Lafayette, Excelsior, Smithville, Kearney, PC all won, and they are all ranked higher than District 5 #3 Camdenton.MSHSAA says differently.
Camdenton didn't lose. And congrats to Smithville for beating a class 3 team while most of district 5 was beating class 5 and 6 teams.Camdenton loses... Smithville crushes Maryville. District 8 now has five teams ranked higher than District 5's number 3. Any questions?
And Camdenton is district 5 #4, trailing Webb City, Carl Junction, and West Plains. You're wearing me out having to constantly correct you. Would you mind getting something right at some point? And now? Camdenton lost. Lafayette, Excelsior, Smithville, Kearney, PC all won, and they are all ranked higher than District 5 #3 Camdenton.

Next....
This will be settled in mid-November when hopefully the winner of District 5 meets District 8. Whether it be CJ or WC, my gut is they will win due to their defenses. Who cares if you think your number 3, 4 , 5, 6, 7, 8 teams are better because how many times do those teams make it out of districts? I don't think the semi games in district 5 will be close. Does that mean that our district is weaker or that are top 2 are that much stronger? Ponder that......Camdenton still ranked behind five teams from District 8. Give it up. YOu have two teams that are with the top 3 in District 8. The next two from District 8 are better than your #3. No, next, that is reality.
I got to see them play Kearney way back in 1988 and 1989. They were the epitome of how hard work pays off. Never looked overwhelming just very efficient and well schooled.Coach Shore did a ton with workhorse players. Three D-I players in 36 yrs. Took over a program that was not a power house and made it a contender every year. Hard to beat that.
- 36 years
- 368-98-2
- Average of 10.2 wins per year
- 7 Championship games
- 5 titles
- 25 district championships (I think)
This reminds me I need a new vanity in my restroom downstairs. Thanks! Stamp it........No vanity. Hard truths. WHich, granted, Kearrraarneay fans have trouble swallowing atb times.
Until knocked off HARRISONVILLE is the defending C4 champion. Of all these stats and looking beyond the obvious favorites how about the fact perennial doormat McDonald County is above .500?C4 D5
Webb City 7-0
Carl Junction 6-1
West Plains 5-2
Camdenton 6-1
Hillcrest 4-3
McDonald County 4-3
Bolivar 2-5
Marshfield 1-6
C4 - D8
Platte County 6-1
Kearney 6-1
Smithville 7-0
Excelsior Springs 6-1
Lafayette (St. Joseph) 6-1
Savannah 2-5
Winnetonka1-6
Benton 1-6
Wonder the last time they had a winning recordOf all these stats and looking beyond the obvious favorites how about the fact perennial doormat McDonald County is above .500?
It's about time. They're a whole freaking county for goodness sakes.Of all these stats and looking beyond the obvious favorites how about the fact perennial doormat McDonald County is above .500?
I would hope the seniors won't overlook anyone given their experiences. Two fumbles into the endzone to lose as sophomores. Several turnovers and big plays to lose to Harrisonville. Not saying they are going to win but I would hope that they understand there is no such thing as a guarantee.Until knocked off HARRISONVILLE is the defending C4 champion. Not sure lightning can strike twice but don't count anyone out just yet...........
Calpreps says:
West Plains 28, Excelsior Springs 27
Camdenton 28, Excelsior Springs 26
Which would mean district 5 has four teams in the top 8.
Face it, these two districts are pretty much equally strong and equally deep.
Pitt?? Really?CJ will go down after Pitt beats them. Of course, Kearney will go down after Staley beats them. The big dog at the top is still WC.
Have to think Kearney will come out with much, much more urgency and energy than the first quarter of the Raytown game. That being said this is no ordinary Falcons team with about as diverse an offense as there is in this area if not the state so staying within range would only be possible by controlling the clock with an efficient running game. The Dogs certainly have the RB to do it but the O Line probably is overmatched. Four days out still favor the Falcons by around 20.CJ will go down after Pitt beats them. For all of you Calpreps Junkies(I don't find their system to be accurate in games that matter)
I put in Webb City vs the Top 5 teams in District 8 and here are the results:
Webb City 5-0
I put in Carl Junction vs the Top 5 from District 8 and here they are:
Carl Junction 4-1
So according to Calpreps, Webb and CJ would go a combined 9-1 vs the top teams in your coveted District 8
By the same logic, I could take Kearney, PC, Smithville, Lafayette and Excelsior Springs... who would all be 6-2 against District 5.
Well I guess it's a good thing that Calpreps is wrong. Lafayette and Smithville play in the MEC. Which is made up of half Class 2 & 3 schools.
If those schools played the same schedule as Webb/CJ or even WP/Camdenton, you're looking at a 6-3 regular season. 7-2 at the absolute best.
it's astounding to me how you use calpreps to justify your point in any debate.
too bad none of your super district teams will make it out of the first round of the playoffs.

FUNNY...District 8 had the state champ in 2015 and the Runner up in 2016. So they will knock each other off, just like District 5 will. It is just that District 8 is deeper, and overall, is slightly better. Hahaha
If you really want to talk about past state championships with teams involved in these districts, you will most certainly lose that battle.
And you're correct, the teams in district 8 have a better record, but since two of your top 5 teams play down a class or two half the season, that's to be expected.
How do you figure that?Maryville and Pleasant Hill rate higher than any opponent Camdenton has played to date.

Maxpreps, Calpreps. Objective facts after 7 games. WC was Class 4 and beat Class 6 teams. Maryville and PH have a history of beating class 4 teams. Good football is good football. And they are both better than anyone Camdenton has played this year.I'm going to go out on a limb and say probably calpreps.hahahaha
