CBC, Trinity and Cardinal Ritter

giphy.gif

You didn’t win your division in your conference, didn’t get past Lathrop, and didn’t even play in the same classification as Trinity this year. You have work to do before firing off GIFs.

They did beat trinity though last time they played

Different team. Different year. Living in 2016 or 2017 didn’t help them (or anyone else) in 2018. If you want to bask in past accomplishments, that’s fine. THIS year tho? The only Top Dogs are Hayti, Blair Oaks, Trinity, Ladue, Vianney and CBC. Anyone else has to bend the knee or have a seat. That includes Lamar. They won 7 straight, but don’t wear the crown anymore. Not in The Big 8, SWMO, Class 2 OR Missouri. Next year, they can try and change that. THIS year, their fans don’t have the hardware to talk smack.

No doubt. Lamar built a dynasty. I remember when they weren’t a team anyone thought twice about. No one wins forever and 2 loses don’t mean Lamar isn’t still Lamar ... but they aren’t The Champs this year. Come next August, every team in Missouri is undefeated and has their shot.

I'm not really a fan of 'smack-talk' anyway ... I think the better you are? the less talking [or hand gestures] you have to do anyway.
I think the Valles the Jeffs the Senecas the Webbs the Lamars the CBCs etc etc shouldn't really HAVE to talk smack OR defend anything in a year they don't win them all. Long live respect!

THEY aren’t talking smack. You clowns are. John Burroughs is one of the Top 5 All-Time HS Football Programs is Missouri ... but they’ve sucked since they won State 3 years ago, and you won’t see THEM here trying to downplay Trinity for winning State this year. Lamar and Webb have the pedigrees over the last decade to boast, but since they didn’t win THIS year even they need to fall back.

The rest of SWMO loves to claim false-glory off of Lamar and Webb. Yes, I said it and, Yes, it’s true.

I feel like Im repeating myself, but it takes a different level of hate to hold on to that lol literally no one cares. In 20 years you’ll be 85 and you’ll definitely tell you’re great grandkids about how Trinity had those 18 penalties instead of them winning the state championship, just weird.

BP you seem to have lets say strong opinions on stuff do you feel there should be a private school league in Missouri? if not why not?

I agree that SWMO never has anyone else in the playoff picture. Just ask Carthage, Joplin, Seneca, Cassville, Mt Vernon, Monett, Logan Rogersville, Miller, Lockwood ....

Honestly yes, the competitive balance isnt as massive as you guys like to pretend it is but Private schools rules encourages recruiting. Lutheran North this season had another 3 Star guy just straight up leave Hazelwood West after school already started this semester and he’ll be eligible next year. He has power 5 offers and hasn’t even played this season.
Its new to you guys but when I was in middle school playing JFL football in like 2004 recruiting was going on then. Its always gone on in St Louis. All the private schools have a financial aid system that most people use. MICDS is like 25k/yr etc these schools arent cheap.
The obvious reason why it will never happen is that its not enough private schools in the state to justify it and the size of those schools range from Class 1-6. And majority of the schools are based in St Louis. So essentially you guys are requesting a St Louis only league, which of course wont happen lol just gotta deal with it

Do a lot of recruitts come from Illinois?

No lol, you guys wouldnt know it but just across the river is East St Louis high and Edwardsville, they are Illinois powerhouse schools. Most guys go their if you’re from that side in football. Even in Basketball right now Belleville West (right across the river) is ranked in the Top 20 Nationally. Its a lot of good programs on the Illinois side.

Most of the talent in St Louis IMO comes from north county, Kirkwood/Webster area, and U-City.
North county is most of the Hazelwood districts. If everyone stayed home who would go to Hazelwood Central they will be great every year instead of this current drought.
U-City is notorious the last 20 years for people not staying. Bradley Beal & Jayson Tatum in the NBA are both U-City guys.
Just recently in football from U-City:
Kamryn Babb (CBC - Ohio State WR)
Ronnie Perkins (LN - starts at WDE for #4 Oklahoma)
Kaleb Elerby (led Pattonville to Class 5 championship last year - true freshman starting QB for Western Michigan)
And this is just off the top of my head, there’s many more.

For some reason I thought Zeke lived in Illinois when he played high school ball in Missouri?
Yea he attended elementary middle and high school in St Louis. Even played JFL for Matthew Dickey boys and girls club in the city.

The ESTL QB is a Sophomore transfer from Trinity, threw for 2k and ran for 1k. He didnt wanna sit behind Isaiah Williams. Im not saying it never happens but its more than likely not the case.

When they start playing at the new school do they really move of just establish a new address?

John Burroughs is a Private School so you could live in Jerusalem and still attend. Idk about the Trinity-ESTL guy situation in particular but yea most people just go live with a family member. When enrolling at a school you can put any adress you want & because you’re transferring to another state you won’t have to sit out 365.
You guys may remember former Kansas WR/RB Anthony Pierson from some years back. He went to Gateway in St Louis with Sheldon Richardson (Minnesota Vikings-Mizzou) after Sheldon left he transfered to East St Louis. That 2010 season ESTL was undefeated and the top ranked team in Illinois. During the playoffs IHSAA investigated him and everyone found out he was still living in St Louis. (Gateway HS is a 15min drive from ESTL HS) they had to forfeit all 12-0 wins and were eliminated.

After this Im almost sure ESTL makes sure guys establish residency now lol

What do they do if it’s in state one school to another?

What do they do if it’s in state one school to another?
Im as confused as you guys:
Mookie Cooper the best player on Trinity I mean just got offered from LSU yesterday = went to SLUH (Private) and transfered to Trinity immediately eligible as a sophomore.

Ronnie Perkins @ OU = started for U-City(Public) as a freshman, transfers to LN (Private) as Sophomore also immediately eligible.

Maurice Massey commited to Mizzou WR = was a stud WR for Francis Howell North (Public) transfers to Kirkwood (Public) for Senior Season. He made All State at WR they lose to Joplin.

Hagens the Cardinal Ritter QB = started fresh/soph years at Hazelwood East (Public) transfers to Ritter(Private) this year, throws for 4500 yards 55 TDs and 5 ints. They go undefeated and lose at State. He has about 5 offers now.

Outside of these, all of the “super team” players came in as Freshmen which makes it 100% by the book legal (so stop crying.....like seriously please) but I found out all of this because it was in the Newspaper. MSHSAA went through every case and allowed it.
Your guess is as good as mine as to how or why.

I don’t give a flying flamingo fart if it’s “legal” or not, it’s a situation that could never be duplicated at any public school.
I gave a Public- Public example just to show the same thing is happening there in St Louis. Its a ton of other lower impact ones but these are just the big names.

None of them are in the same galaxy when it comes to what Lamar and Webb have done. No one that’s a fan of HS football in SWMO jumps on this message board to troll STL or private schools and uses any of the schools you listed when they want to crow about “who’s the best”. Nice try though.

Don’t forget Nixa (runner-up to Battle a couple years back); lots of SWMO representation in the Show-Me Bowl over the past decade other than Lamar and Webb.

If you think Nixa is in the same discussion as Lamar and Webb’s programs’ dominance then you’re on crack. Picking out a team that was a runner-up at State “a couple of years back” and thinking it’s the same as 7 straight or 14 total trophies is ridiculous.

If you think Trinity is after one title, so are you!

You’re right. Guess that explains why you should freak out and lose your shit now. You spent the last 2 years giggling about how Trinity didn’t matter because they hadn’t won State. Now, the sky is falling and even fans of rural teams that won’t even play Trinity are setting their hair on fire. I guess there’s no point in any of you even suiting up if you’re scheduled to play them in the future, since their talent has you all so shook?

All I hear is bitching about private schools, but there’s really only one school you’re all obsessed with. I just it’s a compliment? Maybe it’s just an excuse? Who knows?

If I could be serious for just a second, please don’t lump me in with the people who harbor ill will against Trinity; I may have had some fun at Trinity’s expense in response to some of the hyperbole over the last couple years, but comparatively speaking, I’ve probably been more of an advocate for Trinity than most.

I was at the state title game against Lamar two years ago (I even own the DVD of that game and have watched it several times since); lots of immaturity on that Trinity squad, but also quite a few true leaders, including sophomore at the time Isaiah Williams. He along with #55 (a senior at the time whose name escapes me) were leading the way in the handshake line (which actually happened after that game); #55 (a DT for Trinity) hugged ever member of the Lamar O-Line after the game.

It was that game that inspired my pre-season pick of Trinity in Class 3 this year (how could that group of Sophomores NOT pull it together their senior year, and sure enough they did); I just hate that the fact that a lot of them clearly haven’t taken the last two years to mature and develop some discipline (as clearly evident by the record number of penalties and the fact that they didn’t shake hands after their title).

As far as the public/private debate, I’ve taken heat THIS YEAR for telling publics to get over it and step their game up...

Oh well! That’s enough seriousness for today from this “old timer”.

All I was trying to say with the post in question is that SWMO has had plenty of representation over the last decade outside of Webb and Lamar (NOT comparing any other team in SWMO to Lamar or Webb’s success).
