CBC, Trinity and Cardinal Ritter

Well I’m 27 and even I don’t think Trinity acted right or possessed the appropriate amount of discipline and responsibility that comes with calling yourself a champion.

If you want to call yourself a champion, you play like a champion and most importantly, act like a champion.
You were there? What exactly did they do to show bad sportsmanship? I wad there and that cell phone shit didn't happen. I guess celebrating a championship is bad sportsmanship.

holy crap you are just 27....I was thinking you were closer to late 60's or early 70's by some of your rambling post. You just blew my mind.

Nice try, but no one without grandkids says shit like “responsibility that comes with calling yourself a champion!”

LOL trying to defend how classy Trinity was, but your choice of words just proves maybe they were not. I was not there but seeing the language a fan or parent from Trinity uses in a post makes me go hmmm.

They didn't shake hands because of how heated it got and they wanted to keep the players separated. Stop being so dense. Also, it was Ritter's decision not to shake hands. Trinity was lining up to do it. Man, you all need to give it a rest.

One reason why in club basketball and such they have you shake hands before the game in some tournaments.

Go hmmmm then. You think I care? You make assumptions and were not even there. I cursed on a message board, sooooo?

Oh the after game handshake, after a very hard fought and emotional game, as the final buzzer sounds it is sometimes hard to put away all that emotion and just go shake the mans hand that just 2 seconds ago was trying to beat you up and down the field....

Dude, we don't care one bit. People attend church and curse. Get off your ****ing high horse.

I am not saying they don't, but dude come on... That is like telling me your boy did not start a fight while starting a fight while trying to defend it. That gives proof to the smoking gun.

What???? Emotions are all over the place in a football game. My problem is some of y'all hate Trinity so much you are quick to jump on the "classless" train. They push snd shove during the game like any other team out there, but they didn't take any actions that were out of line. They ran into the kicker and Ritter's kids were frustrated from getting beat and one got ejected. The end.

Let's get something straight, I don't hate Trinity I don't hate the kids who played there. I hope they go on and do great things, I hope they have a bright future.

But I can tell you I don't like the rules that allowed Trinity to put this team together. Because it changes the landscape of high school football and what I enjoyed about it. Yes in the past some private schools had D-1 kids on their roster, but one or two kids is not an insurmountably mountain to overcome. But a class 3 school that is able to stockpile that much talent on a roster just makes it nearly impossible for any small class school to overcome no matter how much work they put in. And then comes the question of legality, I don't know if they did or did not recruit these kids, but none the less it just made this season no fun for me when other teams never had much of a chance because they were going up against a St Louis all star team.

Hey dummy,

There is video proof that "cell phone sh*t" happened. Go pay $9.95 to MSHSAA.TV and watch it for yourself.

And it wasn't just the kids. Adults some in Trinity gear (maybe coaches) were doing it too before game was over.

CBC, Vianney and Trinity all won championships. Lutheran North was in the semis, Ritter and MICDS lost in the finals ... but Trinity is the school you name as the one that ruined it and “made this season no fun” for YOU. ONE school, winning ONE championship for the first (and maybe only) time has you and a ton of rural fans losing their shit. The hurt in your butt has as much to do with the fact that SWMO can’t ride out the offseason this year beating your chests and talking shit about how superior you feel your kids, programs and lives are.

Don’t stop with the tears. I’m enjoying the show. You all managed to survive when Lamar and Webb had their runs. You’ll make it through to 2019.

Your tske is fair, but unlike you, many on here are unfairly saying off the wall things about a group of kids because they don't like the rules. Real question, hoe do you feel about CBC? They stockpile talent as well and ran all over the state of MO.

Work harder. Maybe you’ll all do better next year?
You really think Trinty out-worked the competition?

Hey dummy, I was at the game! How coyld Trinity players even get a hold of cell phones, you dumbass. It wasnt like they walked up to their parents and got them. Stupid Trinity hating fools. You got another team openly taunting Trinity fans and sidelines, and have a player ejected, but you want to jump on these kids. Go get a life, crybaby.

I have actually seen better teams than CBC or Vianney. There was a little class 4 school named Parkwood from Joplin that Jimmy Johnson tried to sign as many players as he could from. So Large class schools I think they have more of a chance to compete year after year with the likes of CBC it is not easy but hey you have 2000 kids to chose from you should have some good years. But Trinity playing in class 3 was like sticking Alabama in the NAIA who would want to watch that? Would you? I would think they would rather go and be challenged in a larger division?

But yeah you are probable right Trinity or any other small private school may never ever be able to assemble a team like that again. Who knows.

As for Lamar and Webbs run we have yet to beat them in several years. Lamar beat us the year we won the class 3 title. Now that we are class four we will have to run thru Webb just to make it out of district. So survive maybe.....

Very misleading to name drop Jimmie Johnson here lol he was at a bad Oklahoma State program at this time, not Miami. Thats like how Illinois has offered like 10 Trinity players in c/o 19/20.
This CBC team though is the best Missouri team in a long time. A lot of teams have won but combine that with the A-list names of talent and the national rankings (#10 on Maxpreps, #24 USA Today), its really unusual for Missouri team in football. Missouri in Basketball has had numerous amount of Top 25 teams nationally (Vashon even this year will probably finish top 15) but football this team is rare.

It’ll be free to all in a week and everyone can witness it for themselves (at least in the past, MSHSAAhas made the title games free viewing a week later...)

But don’t worry! The Trinity folks will still have excuses as well as straight LIES (like how the cell home stuff didn’t happen...)

I still don’t know if I can stomach watching the last pure form of the sport (the high school level) be dragged through the mud by watching this game, but I guess if I want to continue to comment on if, I need to watch it :(

(And BTW, I’m not old enough to have grandkids; I was just raised right, like Barry Sanders)

CBC was impressive for sure. But they faced a young Joplin team who really had not played in that big of game all year. I really think they need to put 64 teams in Class 6 just to make that class more competitive. Look at what Webb City and Carthage did to that Joplin team during the regular season. Carthage or Webb probable would have played CBC a lot closer.

Then Put 32 teams in class one and then give them 4 team districts so you can group them together better and help on travel cost that first round. Keep the rest of the classes the same.

Challenge accepted!

What I want to know RIGHT NOW (before I or someone else posts it) is what would you have to say for yourselves once you’re proven to be liers?
First off, not seeing it doesn't make anyone a liar, it makes me WRONG, which I will accept. Secondly, I won't think shit, because it's not bad sportsmanship to me. They were on their sidelines FAR away from where any Ritter player or fan can see them. Only the Butthurt Brigade is complaining about this. I still didn't see it, nor think you will post anything.

Maybe you think they just woke up last Saturday and decided that was the day they were going to win State? Maybe you think they didn’t acquire their skill through effort and sacrifice because they didn’t do it in rural Missouri? Maybe you think that only cornfed country boys deserve to be acknowledged for their accomplishments because it’s the thing their entire community lives for?

I think any team that wants to be better than they were yesterday needs to focus on working harder today. Sometimes kids that aren’t yours get to win.

So now the “cell phone shit” DID happen, but was just regular celebrating???

Changing stories are always good for your credibility (but then again maybe it’s just “old timers” that care about things like credibility, honesty, discipline, sportsmanship, facts, and accuracy )

I’ll say then what I’m saying now ... that Trinity is The Class 3 State Champion and no amount of excuses, complaining, bitching, moaning or posting on a message board will change that.

I’ll say that the reason you all are losing your shit is because you hate to see their kids shine and that all it took to prove it was no one from your sad, little towns NOT winning State ONE time.

Then I’ll say, enjoy watching other people’s kids play in college and try harder next year ... because the 2018 season is over.

Guess you didn't read the part where I said I still didn't see it, so no it didn't happen. If you find it and I didn't see it, then I was wrong. Being wrong isnt good enough for you, loser??? Hell, y'all been moving the goal posts all year. "They won't beat Odessa!" "Maryville will turbo them!" Then it's they showed bad sportsmanship because they wouldn't shake hands. When someone posted MSHSAA decised they wouldn't shake hands, then it became " they had cell phones!" Freaking losers worried about kids. Lol

The fact is, parochial schools are supposed to be about more than just winning. Poor behavior from any of these team's is an embarrassment to the diocese, the administration, and coaches. All of you guys that defend the win at any cost "at least we're state champs" attitude are part of the problem.
