Board is very lively this afternoon

Top...You ever get to the track outside of Osborn on 36? I worked a summer job with a guy that was the mechanic for a guy that raced sprints there. Think he might have played football at MU at one time. Went to watch him a couple times there. Been a long time ago!

Yes every time the Outlaws come calling. Last year ended up not so good because of weather, though. They should be releasing their 2023 full schedule I would be shocked if US 36 is not on it. Lots and lots of FB folks go to especially these major sprint car events and some are involved, like your former co-worker, in the sport directly.

Many years former and current NFL players attend the Knoxville IA Nationals!

Been to the grand ole lady in Monett?
I don’t believe so, but it’s hard to say, my father started taking me to dirt races when I was 4 or 5 years old, so like I said, it’s possible that I’ve been there(and don’t remember) but I don’t believe so.

As an adult it’s been mainly I-44 in Lebanon or the now Legit Speedway in West Plains(last I knew it was owned by a racing family from Willow Springs) and Lucas Oil once or twice.

When I was growing up my father took me to I-44 in Lebanon(A LOT), West Plains Speedway, Bolivar Speedway, Adams County Speedway in Corning Iowa, also went to some dirt races down outside of Memphis near where they had a paved oval and a drag strip, but I was really young and for the life of me, I can’t remember where.

Also went to an ASA event when I was younger on asphalt at I-70 speedway and got to see Adam Petty race.

And in the summer of 2001, went a Busch Event at Pikes Peak Speedway out in Colorado

Mainly through my youth it was spent cheering for Larry & Terry Phillips

Larry Phillps, Ken Essary and Johnny Bone back in the dirt track days, those guys would put on some shows. Larry use to always come to Monett before he switched to Asphalt racing. Terry still would come, I have not been in a few years.

I have soooooo many old white and blue 75 pics, bullit! What memories all the way back to the old I 70 speedway in 1983! All three's sons raced well, too.

Good friend of my cousins in Willow: Current and 2 time defending Comp Cams LM champ Logan Martin #36. We cheer for him every time he comes up this way.

Yeah I will see Baby Bone come to Monett and race a Modified, Terry not so much Leslie haven't seen him in several years.
Leslie hung it up quite awhile ago. JBJR is still racing at local events (Pea Ridge AR native as you likely know) amazing! Terry is doing the USMTS mod thing he's OK but likely nearing the end of a long successful career.

This thread went from soccer to 8 man to hog hunting to Texas County to Dirt Track Racing lol
Early week actually I don't mind. We are gonna beyond be up to our necks in HSFB beginning Friday night trust me. The racing deal is my #1 hobby every spring and summer so am glad to see other FB folks like it too!

Chili Bowl in Tulsa only indoor racing I can tolerate. Joplin had a super dirt track facility for a few years.
I went to 66 raceway way back in 2000 agree that was nice. I haven't been to the Chili Bowl since the late 00s it is very, very good and is the largest and most diverse group of top racers of any race in the World. It is now so popular you have to order tix literally the day they go on sale.

I’ve always been more of a late model fan, but I don’t know if ever seen the sooner series.
