BO vs Hallsville

Alot of factors go into it. Dr. Jones and Ted Lepage certainly was the start of it on the boys side. Sharon Buschjost with softball. Hiring great people and having a community that demands hard work of students and coaches. Some of the Asst. Coaches in all sports were/are head coach material that chose/choose to stay and be apart of the culture.
Gary Verslues also helped that with the 2000 2nd place boys basketball team, and the first and only basketball state title in 2001. Mixed with a young Ted Lepage (fresh off selling insurance) and Dr. J, those were exciting times for all.

Here we go again lol. Snowflake about to get on his rant about the "Friends of the Program" or some other tantrum.
Get a tissue. There is a reason you are so quick to defend your beloved school.
Hey why don't you tell us again about the Army national guard recruiter you rent to, who just happens to be from Jeff city and who's son just happens to be good at football, wrestling and baseball.

Lol I'm not the one crying on here. I don't rent to anybody that works for the Army National Guard, so not sure where you make that up at but oh well.

There are tons of factors that have gone into the success that Blair Oaks has had for the last 25 years. I could sit here and discuss what I think those factors are for days. But it does make me laugh when people like you whine and complain.

They have been very fortunate to have some really good athletes, coaches and families come through the district. Before the current QB, they had 10 straight years of a Hair at QB. Two of them went on to be starters in college. The current QB will probably also get recruited. How many Class 2/3 schools can say they had 3 QBs in a row, assuming Bax goes D2, that have went D2 or better? They've had 1 D1 player in this 25 year run. But yes please go on about the only success they have is because they recruit and find a way to move kids in before freshman year and they're living with grandma and whatever other BS you want to spew.

ok

No one is crying. All I do is point out the hypocrisy of people like yourself. I'm all for parents doing what is needed to send their children to the best possible school. Blair Oaks is as good as it gets when it comes to public schools. I'd argue it's among the best in the country, let alone the state.

So please keep spinning this web that BO is all homegrown and blah blah blah. There is a reason BO has a poor relationship with surrounding schools. And yes you are right, there are many factors in BO's success, but this one you keep deflecting from because you know there is truth to it.

There are people that move into the district, that's obvious. You don't have the growth that they've had without people moving in. But there are still a lot of traditional names currently on the team and in the district. But most of them move in at a young age. You make it sound like they are getting a bunch of move ins during their high school years. Parents choose to send their kids to what they feel is a better school or the best situation for their kids. And if they do it legally, what is the problem?

Also, look at Helias' enrollment in the mid 2000s to now. I know some of that has to do with Tolton and Calvary. But there are a lot of kids that live in Wardsville that go to BO now instead of Helias. The enrollment at St. Stan has declined drastically over the years as well.

Never said or implied any of that and I clearly don’t have a problem as I have stated numerous times.

You accuse them of recruiting and say you have to know someone in order to buy or build there. How is that not implying that they are doing something illegal?

I have never accused the school or coaches (or any school) of directly recruiting. There is a reason schools, whether public or private, don’t get hit with recruiting. Why are you so adamant on pretending to be naive.

At the start of the 2003 season records against Blair Oaks:
California was 21-7
Eldon was 18-9
Osage was 15-12
Versailles was 12-15

At end of this season against Blair Oaks:
California 24-28
Eldon 18-32
Osage 16-34
Versailles 12-35

Blair Oaks does not recruit. The only way a student is able to attend Blair Oaks is either they live in that school district or if 1 of their parents is employed by the school district as staff or teacher.

So what is BO's secret other than "hard work"? Just a super desirable area to live for wealthy people? They're always head and shoulders above the rest of the states public schools(same class). How do they do that on a consistent basis?
Starts at the youth, in 4th grade. From then on up they run same system and have same expectations as the HS and kids are eager to leave their mark behind. I was at a couple of games and what I noticed most, was all those young kids, in their jerseys on those nights, having their own backyard football games going the whole night.
