It is not my imagination. Every game I watch I think "why can't we hit the ball where it is pitched?.".

Last night I heard that the Cardinals hit the ball "into the shift" more than any other team in MLB. Going the other way like a real hitter is obviously not something they emphasize.

When Pujols got his 3,000th hit I saw a spray chart of all 3,000. It was impressive as hell. With this regime STL fans will never see that again.

Oh, you mean it's not best practice to try to pull a pitch that's down and away? Man, someone must have really forgotten to tell our hitters that...

That’s what kills me about Ozuna right now. He’s just flat trying to pull everything he swings at. He had about a three or four game stretch he just hammered the ball. Took a few balls the other way and one was a HR. Now he’s back to pulling off of every swing. Like he’s just trying too hard or something. Odd.
