"On Thursday, the U.S. Education Department announced a proposed change to Title IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in federally funded education programs. The proposal would make it illegal for schools to broadly ban transgender students from sports teams that align with their gender identity, rather than their assigned sex at birth.

The department says the move comes after two years of outreach to stakeholders across the country, and the changes still give schools some flexibility to ban transgender athletes depending on age and sport." NPR News

I oppose transgenders competing against athletes born of the opposite sex. Humans are born with either XX or XY chromosomes, except in rare instances, and we can't change our genetic make up. Males have an advantage physically. No one can deny that a transgender born male will have an advantage competing against athletes born females. Those are facts. That should be the end of the debate. And who will decide what "some flexibility" by schools actually means?

Biden and the liberals are wrong on this issue. They are wrong because of the science, not because of a bias, prejudice, or emotional judgement.

I think the problem is that, and no offense to genetic females, the transgendered athletes (changed from male to female) don't even have to be that great of athletes to be able to compete and win in women's sports. Didn't a Dallas under-15 soccer squad defeat the women's national team in 2017? Those boys are not even fully developed and they won 5-2. That's like a 40-14 blowout in football terms.

Honest question here: what about those individuals with Klinefelter Syndrome (XXY chromosomes)? Or people with guevedoce syndrome?

In Kansas transgenders from kindergarten thru college cannot compete against their non original gender. That seems a bit extreme. In my area we have some mixed boys/girls teams K, 1, 2 in baseball, soccer, basketball, etc Is it really going to hurt to have a transgender first grader on a girls first grade basketball team? My granddaughter scored at will vs boys teams all winter.

If passed, federal law would trump state law.

Yes, in co ed sports before puberty, there is no physical advantage. After puberty, there is an advantage for males.

A transgender first grader??? What in God's name is going on??? I am all for an adult having the freedom to chose whatever they want. But, there is zero chance a first grade child has the cognitive ability to make a choice about their sexuality. We had a daycare for over 20 years and if a child displayed their privates, touched another child's privates or talked much about anything sexual we were mandated to call the child abuse hotline. It was always investigated to keep that child safe. Parents of children that allow and push gender reassignment surgeries need to be prosecuted for child abuse.
Biden isn't happy by just destroying our economy, border security, foreign policies, etc., now he's pushing for complete ludicrousy in this area, also. Our country is permanently damaged in so many ways by this pathetic excuse that people put charge.

Seriously??? The first thing he did was to reverse every fuel policy in place that kept us oil independent and fuel prices low. Raise fuel prices and everything goes up. With prices up, wages must go up. It's big government just like the Dems always push for. They did this intentionally. Look at the inflation rate since Biden took office. This is not rocket science and only confusing to those who don't want to see. SMH

I think Biden did release the oil reserves? Not sure if they were replenished but OPEC is cutting oil production again. I'm thinking Biden might have told them to...lol.

This all seems so crazy to me, and it reminds me of an 80's movie plot twist, were a boy doesn't make the basketball team so now decides to dress like a girl and goes out for a girls team at a school across town and starts dropping 60 on all those poor girls teams and becomes all state...
