Best Missouri HS Running Backs

Walter Cochran #34. Hands Down!!!! He was an ordained minister! If it wasn't for that dang knee he would of had one heck of a career! He had speed to run past you! Power to run over you! Hands to catch over you! The most complete running back in this discussion!

Falco brings up a very valid point. If that knee hadnt been injured, Adrian Peterson better move over!

"Moving Marvin" Johnson from Potosi back in the late 70's...played college ball at Purdue.

Michael Washington from Monroe City...big RB with speed...played at Mizzou.

Curtis Brown from St. Charles HS...played at Mizzou in the late 70's and in the NFL for the Bills and Oilers.

I remember nearly every RB in this thread...damn I'm old...

Good call on Curtis Brown. He followed Galbreath at Mizzou and really only had one season as a starter but was a great back...I remember him having a great game vs OU in a game Mizzou lost in a heartbreaker. Had a very nice NFL career.

2008 Class 4 Offensive POY (same year as Montee Ball got it in Class 5)

4 year starter:
Senior: 2300+ yards. Around 180 YPG and 10 YPC. 40 TDs.
Junior: 1500+ yards. 157 YPG. 10+YPC. 20 TDs
Sophomore: 1000 yards. 100 YPG. 7 YPC. 4 TDs
Freshman: No stats (I do remember a 99 yard run against one of the best Hville teams they've had)

Also, was a pretty dang good outside backer.

Went to Pitt State. Scored on his first touch before succumbing to ACL problems the rest of his career.

I was lucky enough to have coached Ryan Talton from Paris High School. He had a great 3 year run culminating with 2300+ his senior year. Got knocked out of the playoffs by Hayti with William Moore and then Tipton the next year.
