Big shock in the no support zone from crap administration.
I still thought he'd last 3 years there just to pad his retirement income. I guess they really didn't like the spinning QBs in Jeff.
Couldn't adapt to the school culture and the diversity...uhmmm
If I moved my wife to that cesspool, she wouldn’t have lasted the season. Can totally understand this.
Did the townsfolk run him out of Jeff City? Maybe dump garbage on his lawn? Sometimes that happens because when a good booster club president speaks, people listen.
Quotes are equal part good level cliche answers and some underlying jabs. would love to know the whole story.

It was never a good fit from the start. Bailey's personality wasn't going to mesh with the ones at JC. The administration and the school system as a whole is a dumpster fire and has been for a good 10-15 years now, and only getting worse. The town is going downhill as well, and only getting worse. Bailey was never going to put up with the BS. I'm not going to talk about all the issues with the school, it would take way too long of a post to do it.
A lot of people from the outside think JC is some magical place and it's not. Sure back in the day it was an awesome district but it slowly starting declining around 2000. Coaching has nothing to do to with it, and I mean nothing to do with it. I've said this for several years on this board and in the area.
Until they change the leadership in that school district, and I mean start by gutting the administration, nothing will start to change. Any football coach in their right mind, or not so arrogant should not take this job. The future doesn't look bright, obviously there are a lot of issues with the school district, but there is a not whole lot of talent coming up either. Regardless of what the old Jaybirds of the glory days clinging on to any last hope say, don't be a fool and take that job.

As someone not from the area would you give a little more insight into the issues. Is it just facilities, coach support, community support, what is going on?
You have heard some of the stories that I have. Soft as toilet paper up there!

I guarantee you he had no problems what so ever adapting to the school culture or the diversity. Jeff hasn't won in 10-15 years- maybe the culture needs a change.
My understanding is that was his plan before the JC position was offered to him.
Jeff City may not have been winning state titles in the last 10-15 years. But they were consistently winning and putting a good product on the field, up until 4 years ago. Coaching has nothing to do with it. Part of the problem is people thinking that coaching is the problem and it's not. It warrants ridiculous criticism towards the coaches and return gives people who have no clue what's going on the wrong impression. Then those people start saying the same things without knowing what they're talking about. It's a never ending cycle of garbage.
That could be interesting, big school, small community. However, scouting and handing around behind the scenes may be his dream job after his JC experience.
I will list the issues without going into great detail. I would have to write a book if I went into great detail.
- Administration
- Student Accountability
- Parent Accountability
- Student Behavior/Discipline
- Lack of overall support for coaches and staff.
- Community support is low. You drive through the town on a Friday night and you wouldn't even know they played football there. Even in good years.
- Entitlement
- Most kids think they're D1 when in reality most won't step foot on a college field. Parents also included in this.
- Players getting in trouble with the law and in school. Unfortunately usually happens to be their best talent that are the biggest issues with behavior/discipline.
- Bad Grades. Quite a few kids that should be out but aren't because of grades and/or behavior. This goes hand in hand with the accountability part.
- Adults in the kids lives give them too many excuses and crutches. Again accountability part.
- Bad work ethic. Accountability part again.
- Old jaybirds thinking they should be winning state titles, even though there isn't enough talent and way to many problems to deal with. This leads to a lot of criticism within the community, which creates a lack of support for the coaches.
This is the list of issues, again a lot more could be said but I'm not typing all of it out.

Im gonna take a wild guess here and say that the Jeff City does not have a hot mom problem.
I don't know but someone told me he would be eligible for a pension after this year. Also his senior class is really good but after that the next good class at CJ are the 7th graders.
Can't wait to see where she falls on the Bosko scale.
I didn't know Bosko could get on a scale... those thing usually cap at 4 bills

Anyone that thinks this is just about his non ability to adjust to community is fooling themselves. The administration has created the crap climate for students and teachers. I am sure anyone that comes from a culture of respect won’t feel comfortable in JC. He was exactly what JC needed. Climate adjustment. School system is like DC. A little swampy.

Joe hit the nail on the head with this one. That woman seems pretty "meh"
Gameday summed it all up pretty well. And it's not exactly known for it's thriving community either. Basically the anti-Lamar. The list of coaches they've lost over the last 10+ years should tell a story.
There’s a reason a private school in town and a public school 10 minutes away do so well. They have acceptable climates or at least climates better than the JC school district. I’ve hit on this before. It’s no secret. As long as admin doesn’t change district won’t change.
