Advisory Board to meet the 19th

What drills you going to outlaw? Out of state players he'll let everyone play. Give back those state championships to Pembroke Hill.

Many of those things have been discussed at other meetings. Does not mean anything is going to happen. People will gripe and complain and the state will continue to do what they want. Now I would like to be a fly on the wall to hear how the discussions go.

I mean the fact that the private school stuff is at least being discussed is a step in the right direction I suppose. But surely this isn't the first time it has been discussed and not much has been accomplished.

Not sure how these meetings go, does the name by it mean that is the Coach that talks about it or initiates it? It seems like Coach Naeger is talking about the private schools issues. Not trying to be vicious, but genuinely trying to learn about these.

I believe it means that is the person who has got it put on the agenda to be discussed.

Few thoughts:
• ban cowbells those things hurt my ears GDMIT
• out of state need permanent address in district
• film video all schools post games within 48 hrs to hudl. Helps kids and encourages fair play
• field condition expectation
• Private school cap removal asap. Effective March 2025 based on rules

I think out-of-state students need to be enrolled at the school at 9th grade. All other out-of-state students need to relocate physically to Missouri. There should be zero gray area. Live in Kansas and want to transfer your student to Rockhurst in their junior year? Too bad unless you physically move to Missouri and within the 25-mile radius
I also like the cap removal for private schools. Every 3 points move up a class

If the name beside is the one discussing or bringing it to board I wish Allie would have contacted me for my excel docs on classifications I could have helped him out

Remove all privates. Break into even classes. Class 1 schools shouldn't have a 1 in 32 chance while 2-5 have a 1 in 56 chance that's asinine. Even classes will cut some traffic down.

The top 10% of public schools win championships at a high rate than private schools do. Should we kick them out too?

Class one should be capped at the 2.0 ratio. If we follow you plan class one would have schools ranging from like 90 to 240.

No we wouldn't because you have not seen my plan. As I have not put one out separating them. I've only put out equal classes and it didn't exceed 2.0

It's on this board if you wanna read em.

That would be a 150!
Private school range would be 300+ ??? If two classes. If all privates in one class the range would be 1000+ ???

My thoughts

Pros
• separate of Private and public be a good thing
• dropping to 5 classes for public if this does go through

Cons
• Class 1 shouldn’t be 32 I say 42, or 48

. If Class 1 does go to 32. What will the new Class 5 was 6 look like. The enrollment difference in Class 6 this year is already spread out from 1278-1762. I say 32 in supposedly the new C5 and Split C1 to C4 Evenly and evenly divided C1-C5 Public Schools.

• don’t like the ideal of taking the top 4 schools in each district. What if we get another C3 D3 next year if they do vote this in and some good teams left out of the bracket!!!

There is no good team running 2-7

They need to play better. If you don't finish in the top 4 of 8 during the regular season do you DESERVE to be in?

If that’s the head coach at Valle, what could he possibly have to say? Is this going to be a “Valle isn’t like the other private schools, so we shouldn’t be punished like them” speech? I’m not saying it will be, but that seems to be the rag we’ve heard on here so I’m just curious.

Are there more than one coach in Missouri named Naeger? Probably not…. So probably yes!
Guess we will find out but that argument would be legit since they are not a metro private…..and their web site indicates they have Preschool, grade school, middle school, and high school! Which “isn’t like the other privates”…
….”the rag we’ve heard on here” ???? The rag I keep hearing is put all the privates in one class or maybe two classes or separate them completely!!!

The “rag” I would like to see is what do the St Gen public think about Valle and what do the Perryville public think about St Vincent and what do the Festus public think about St Pius ?? The “rag” seems to come from those hundreds of miles away instead of from those that are right there ???

I am seeing into the future, and here is the dialogue I forsee. (or should I say makes common sense)

"Ok, new business, section B part B. Public/private split".
"Do they play by the same set of rules"?
"No"
"Ok, then we are separating them to where public plays by one set of rules and has a playoff, and privates play by another set of rules and have their playoff"
"Objection, but then the public and privates can't play anymore"
"Actually, they can play in week 1-9 any and all they want"
"Anything else"
"Hearing none, then they are separated and let's move on to section B part C."

Not quite so easy but shouldn't be anymore than that.

1. Separate public and private. We had the chance to do this in the early 2000s and for some reason that’s still not clear, the coaches’ association voted it down. Let’s not make the same mistake again.

2. Make the enrollment radius the same for public and privates. If privates can draw from a max of 30 miles, publics should, too. If a kid in Ashland or Fulton wants to attend Blair Oaks, fine. His family shouldn’t have to go through a charade of owning land in the BO district or some such BS when any kid whose family can afford it can go to Helias - don’t even have to be Catholic.

States that are primarily separate...

Texas, Mississippi, New Jersey (Football only), Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Connecticut, NC, Tennessee (depending on schools that give financial assistance), and Georgia.

2. You can attend an out-of-district public school and pay the tuition already. Some districts like Springfield and St. Joseph have "open enrollment" already.

On the advisory board agenda, the name behind the item to be discussed is the board member that represents the region the proposal came from. It could be that person specifically or it could be a coach in their region. All coaches are emailed proposal forms a couple weeks before the agenda is created so they can put something in writing.

I will put forward my idea next week but also next week mshsaa will attempt to hear the idea as well
