….so Duchesne has 172 students…. More than half as many as almost all the other schools in class 3???
Record for 2024 was 1-9!!!
Take out their only win against an out of state private academy that had to be MS caliber competition and they averaged one TD a game!!!
Gave up an average of a bunch!!!
And the “success factor” puts them in class 3 !!!

And all “privates” are the same??? Please explain!!!

there are public schools that go undefeated and some that go winless they are the same in that they cannot recruit.
Duchesne was a semi finalist in 22 and district champ in 20 they earned their 3 points. as for win loss this year their failure to recruit doesnt mean we let them out of their champ factor. they are the same as all privates as they can recruit without punishment.

So when a private wins and they get moved up a class or two that is not punishment?
no thats an equalizer for the unfair advantage of being able to recruit. I will never understand why privates complain about the field being leveled. most if not all act like they have no advantage or that the publics should just deal with the advantage and say thank you for the opportunity to play lmao

I agree it is an equalizer. But it is also a punishment for winning. Do I believe that privates have an advantage? Yes but not as big as everyong in here makes it out to be. The schools who skirt the rules will either just move to a different school and start all over again or they are to big to get the punishement. Until MSHAA cracks down on them it will continue to happen. But the make private their own class is not really an option either. Can you imagine if we just did away with classes and everyone has to play no matter the schools size in public. The tears would wash this site out but that is what you are wanting to do with privates. What is good for the goose is good for the gander? RIght? If you dont like the rules of the club your school joined tell them leave. People on here think its a government operation. Its not. It is a glorified club which you are free to leave at any time. I wish it was as easy as just seperate privates and public. Personally I am in favor of the championship factor for everyone. I would sure as hell rather win a state championship in a class or two above were you should be.

Separating them is fair and can be done successfully as proven by other states. The champ factor should not apply to publics as they don't have an advantage over other publics. The champ factor can work but not with a 2 class cap and not with 8 points needed to do it. There will be no perfect answer to all as noone can agree but i think most of us agree the current model isnt working.

From my observations on this board I see the term “recruit” used loosely!!! The opportunity to recruit opposed to actually contacting a student to persuade them to attend to improve an athletic team are two different things. Duchesne has never been viewed as a football power, yet they have two good years (for them) and are rewarded with a bump in class. The two good years are not even back to back ….and that performance was when next years seniors were in 7th grade and freshmen??? SMH
I no longer care who wins what…private or public…I am more concerned about performance of Missouri students in the classroom….

There is no "fair" system and separating publics and privates won't create one either. What that will do is create a bigger gap between the haves and have nots for both.

Clearly the current model is working as 3 private schools have won state in the last 2 years

If you dont care about sports or sports performance and only care about educational performance you should maybe find a educational performance forum to post on. A football forum probably isnt right for your views

1 i dont think its about just winning the title it is performance overall.
however to try and say that 3 of 12 state titles( 25% ) is working is asinine
if privates made up 25% of participating schools id agree but they dont
there is 34 private schools participating in football 305 total programs (coops as 1)
so 11% of schools winning 25% of titles is not a working format

That just looks like crybaby BS to me. Lamar and Blair Oaks have won that in the same time frame by themselves.

name calling is always the sign of a lost debate.
i will let you be after this one as it appears you dont have anything of substance to being to the conversation at this point.

You sir, are twisting and turning my words to make them fit your agenda! No where did I say I don’t “care about sports or sports performance”!!! I said I don’t care if privates or public’s win! I also said I “care more about performance in the classroom”!!!
If you are in the field of education and your priority is football wins over the students success in the classroom, you are a problem.
As you say about name calling…. J Kane referring to me as a loser to make me feel better….??? That is almost funny!!!
Your statement “most of us agree the current model isn’t working” …..meaning those on this board that continually talk down at and bully those with opposing views to the point where those that have opposing views get tired of being bullied and talked down to decide to leave…?????

i am not twisting and turning them im letting you know their perception and perception is reality in the social world. If you wanna clarify or reword as you did I never have issue with that.
J kane is J kane i do not speak for joey jr.
I am not in an education field now do i agree with the coaches being required to be. if we truly cared about the education of our children we would hire people solely focused on providing the best education and if we wanted the best sports results for our kids we would hire someone solely focused on that and not require someone to juggle both.
The majority of posters do not like mshsaa or their decisions those that agree with them are usually affiliated with a private school. However being talked down to because of differing views is not my style and if anyone does why leave when there is a ignore feature or just don't acknowledge them

No one called you a name. Get out of your feels.

The same can be said for you. You have offered nothing but “it’s not fair”. Which I’m sorry is BS.

You also have failed to respond to multiple things pointed out to you and instead focus out the points you think you can win.
