What were the vegas odds on the MSHSAA color analyst being so bad that they not only fired him at halftime but brought on the MSHSAA CEO to apologize?
Wait...what!? I didn't get to watch much of the Nixa game. What were the vegas odds on the MSHSAA color analyst being so bad that they not only fired him at halftime but brought on the MSHSAA CEO to apologize?
You missed a hell of a knob slobbinWait...what!? I didn't get to watch much of the Nixa game.
It was an interesting day in the simulation, for sure 🤣What were the vegas odds on the MSHSAA color analyst being so bad that they not only fired him at halftime but brought on the MSHSAA CEO to apologize?

In all seriousness, kudos to MSHSAA (for a change) for having the guts to admit fault.
Nixa’s quite an affluent community (Karens if you will 😅); I’m sure those members of the Nixa community that paid for the broadcast were not shy on MSHSAA’s X account!
(I’m rewatching the first half with an empty living room this time and it’s even worse than I heard the first viewing 😳)
probably some politicians with some mojo from Nixa.It was an interesting day in the simulation, for sure 🤣

And this is coming from a man that once covered Webb on the reg.Since I was busy live blogging the game for SI, I couldn't comment here ... but oh my goodness. Gentlemen, it was bad. In all my years of working as a professional journalist in sports media, I could not believe what was being said. And I understand, when it comes to a color commentator, they are allowed some leeway to show some favortism toward a player, or give credit to an individual for a nice play made or two. Some times when everything is going one way towards a team, it can be construed as favortism one-way ... but this wasn't the case at all, especially in a close game that was tied for most of the first half. There were opportunities to be positive both directions and point out plays made by both sides and key players, their stats and so on, but I wish I could say something good about it but I can't.
So when the second half started and the representative from MSHSAA opened the broadcast with an apology, I was shocked. Caught me off guard. Kudos to MSHSAA for owning it and apologizing.
Here is the comments and his facebook account.

The Commonwealth of Nixa will rise again. Thank you MSHSAA.It was an interesting day in the simulation, for sure 🤣

I miss that guy. He was great. Always talked to him after the games, couldn’t be nicerActually Mr. Welch had the Webb City beat … I was relegated to the Big 8 Conference, Carl Junction and Southeast Kansas.
Mr. Welch loved his Webb City beat. And he was the perfect person to cover the program.
He was way over the top. Hard to believe that not only was he not a DeSmet grad but not even from St. Louis! It was one of the absolute worst I’ve ever seen or heard. Despicable!Since I was busy live blogging the game for SI, I couldn't comment here ... but oh my goodness. Gentlemen, it was bad. If you need signatures or anything, I fully support this idea. I think you would do a fantastic job.Had a late night phone conversation with colleague Cody Thorn (former sports editor in Carthage, Neosho, St. Joseph, Maryville and many other stops in between) and he wanted to know how bad it was.
I told him I’m going to make a standing offer to the MSHSAA to come and broadcast the state football championships (softball, basketball, baseball, etc) and I’ll sign a contract of professionalism and make an concerted effort through the season to watch games and pay attention to the teams in order to be prepared prior to state championship weekend and provide the play by play deserving of championship weekend.
I would like to have the young man who did the online broadcast for Cap City High School join me for color commentary… or even better we could take turns as he could do play by play one game while I provide color. I think his name was Matt Clark and he did very solid job this season in the first week of the season when I watched his performance during the Carl Junction at Cap City game.
The two of us together would be willing to do what needs to be done and do it the right way.

My only request. Could you make room for either Bosko, Kane, or the Mox to join you all in the booth?
Thats brilliant!!Here’s an idea … and obviously this wouldn’t happen so humor me, we could do a halftime show similar to the Amazon Prime Broadcasts when they have about five or six former players with opinions sit and share opinions on the game from the first half.
Live on the sideline with their temporary studio set … offer opinions, commentary and thoughts.
I mean, it could be a nice humorous offset to the professional broadcast, but it’s just an idea. Not sure how it would be received.
