To be honest, I'd love to see the United States invest in South and Central America similar to how China is investing in Africa.
Would help unify the hemisphere, reduce the need for mass immigration due to stabilizing some of these places, and ultimately improve the global economy.

How about we invest in OUR country for a change? I may live to see our crumbling infrastructure haunt us and I'm gettin kinda old. I'm not just talking about roads and bridges ,those are the easy things if given the money. I'm talking about water and sewer lines in nearly every town and city in this country AND our woefully inadequate power grid. If we don't do something about this it will be a bigger issue than any roads or bridges in the country.

The 'Almighty' Mitch McConnell said long ago infrastructure was NOT a priority for this (his) congress and we all know NOTHING gets a vote unless this ONE man wants it too. That absolutely needs to be changed, NO one should have that much power EVER! Who wants to bring up a bill that they know will not see the light of day no matter how much support it might have IF it could get to the floor?

Yes. He is the only president to declare an emergency on an issue of funding that the congress has already decided. This has never happened before.
Emergencies are for time sensitive issues that congress doesnt have time to address.
