I saw a bot thread today and the thread title referenced the Indiana forum! The post itself linked to MoSports and Indiana! So we know Indiana has been hit!


Update - This is the thread on the Indiana page it links to. Forum is DEAD!! I didnt find actual posts until like page 34 and those were from 2020!

Right as I was typing this thread, it seems the bots were vanquished. Regardless, below were my latest efforts to combat the bots from yesterday and this morning.

I reached out to xenForo on 08/01/24 by creating a ticket on their site. I noticed "Community platform by XenForo® © 2010-2024 XenForo Ltd. Forum software by XenForo® © 2010-2021 XenForo Ltd." at the bottom of the football forum and it was hyperlinked. That is how I got in contact with them. Below is the back and forth on the ticket;

"To Whom It May Concern;

I am writing out of desperation. I have been a community member of https://mosports.rivals.com/ since 2003 and need any help that is possible. I noticed at the bottom of the forums "Community platform by XenForo® © 2010-2024 XenForo Ltd. Forum software by XenForo® © 2010-2021 XenForo Ltd." Which is why I am contacting you today.

This Rivals website has been the subject of a massive bot attack. Starting in July 2024, These bot accounts post spam threads regarding drugs, weight loss, self help, etc. Making the forums almost unusable. The only known moderator left many years ago. Several of us have attempted to contact Yahoo and Rivals but to no avail.

Since your company's software built and/or maintains the site, would someone at your company have the ability to delete threads, ban the bot accounts, and make current, legitimate users moderators?

Please help!!"

The last name we have is Bill Gunn but no one has his contact information. Online searching also found the names Ye Lwin and Mary Onyali. Are either of those two names associated with site ownership?"

Your users are suffering. Were all about to leave the site entirely and migrate to another site. I imagine your ad revenue will take a hit from that. Please do something about the bots!"

As of this writing, I have not gotten a response from xenForo. I have screenshots of all this from the ticket but have no idea how to get into MoSports lol.

Update 2 - @PurpleHazeMFs has now reacted to several of my posts with the laughing face. I am starting to believe this is a legit poster. If so, I apologize again. Until this bot drama is over, I cant trust anyone!
