Football Pick 'Em Week 32

Even more interesting stories heading into week 32 such as:

  1. Cass-Midway again looks to host a neutral-site game after a last-minute deal fell through a couple of weeks ago. This week, two potential favorites to win it all come to town as Carnahan challenges Gateway. Carnahan also bears the burden of having to host Gateway on their own home turf at the same time and may end up having to forfeit one of these two games.
  2. Undefeated, top-ranked Brentwood seeks to do what Pattonville couldn't earlier in the season as they host Bayless and Confluence Prep at the exact same time. Can Brentwood maintain their #1 ranking by fending off two teams at once?
  3. Miller Career Academy is set to host its home opener this weekend after neutral site games against Carnahan and Gateway. Will the 61 X 20 yard field combined with the raucous two-story apartment complex across the street prove to create an advantageous home field advantage for the Phoenix?
  4. Vashon finally kicks off its season as they host Roosevelt. This surely must be a huge rivalry to watch as only 3 1/2 miles separate these two schools. Roosevelt seeks to make the folks from Tower Grove East proud as they make the trek down Compton Avenue into the neighborhood of Jeff-Vander-Lou. Can Roosevelt avoid intimidation tactics by their most hated rivals as they pass Thessalonian Baptist Church and Blue Circle Rehab and Nursing on their way into the parking lot?

Coaching openings

Its a weird year for sure but its the time of year again when jobs start to open up. Please post a source with news of an opening ( I don't need a link but say via twitter or via the school employment page etc.). Speculation is fine but let people know it is speculation and not concrete. Remember these are men with families who work for pennies on the dollar to help kids so bashing them is not necessary. At some point the site moderator will make there own version of the list but until then I will try to keep it up to date and yes 8-man jobs count as well

Paul spars with Fauci

Good points made by Rand Paul - I was wondering the same thing - once I get vaccinated and immune, why should I wear a mask (and maintain social distancing, no large gatherings)?? Fauci countered with the fear of variants already appearing in NY and Cal.

I think one thing many people miss about whatever Fauci says - he's a medical doctor and will tend to error on the side of caution. We don't know enough about the variants and how well the vaccine will work on mutant strains, so far we believe there is good promise. Fauci's point is it is possible for a variant to be resistant to the current vaccine. No one knows for sure but Fauci as a doctor is being cautious.

Millionaires whinning to a Billionaire...Good For light hearted laugh

If nobody has checked out the Prince Harry and Megan The gold digger interview with Oprah...well it is good for a laugh. Oh the Oppressed Billionaire and Millionaire's..club maybe we should take up a collection for them poor folks in the Mansions and how they are trapped by the system.

A Prince and a Dutches/Hollywood Actor complaining about their financial woes a self proclaimed oppressed Billionaire.....Prince Charles/Taxpayers still giving stipend around 6 million pounds, Tyler Perry footing Bill for home and their Security Welfare for the Rich..Princes Di and his Great Grandmother left a total of about 25 million to him. They also have Deals with Netflix and Spotify....Dang the oppression they are having to endure.

And the Evil Royal family took away all their Free stuff when they Refused to Perform their Royal duties...Like Showing up to public events 40-60 times a year and speaking etc. I mean come on shouldn't they still get paid if they don't do the duties, And want to earn a living on their own as they proclaim?

My heart just bleeds for Poor Harry and Megan such a unfair life they where born into....

The thing that cracks me up the Most is Megan talking about the racism toward her because she is mixed. I didn't even know she was until months ago my GF told me she had stole her teen Dream of being a Black women who Married a Royal Prince....and I said Megan is Black???? Well my GF said she is Mixed...I replied dang she looks white as Myself the wee Irish Lad I am...

Football Pick 'Em Week 30

Looks like plenty of intriguing storylines for Week 30 including:

  • An unexpected top ten showdown as #4 Hazelwood East travels to face #6 Pattonville
  • Pattonville additionally faces the challenge of having to fend off unranked McCluer North at the exact same time that they are competing against Hazelwood East
  • Soldan International Studies proves anything but as they fail to even leave their own city to find an opponent to host; Roosevelt comes to town instead
  • Gateway proved that defense wins championships last week as their 8-6 victory sent Roosevelt home in the loser's column. An apparent two field goals and a safety was enough to fend off the Roosevelt attack. This week, they travel all the way to the western side of the state for an inexplicable neutral-site battle against Miller Career Academy to be played at Midway Elementary School in Cleveland.
  • Wellston Normandy fans came out in droves last week to support their hometown only to be disappointed when visiting Jennings shocked them with a 20-8 victory. Normandy is on a bye this week so look for their fans to be hanging out at some of Wellston's favorite hotpots such as Saint Louis Area Diaper Bank, Early Explorers Child Development Academy or even "Car Wash" on the corner of Sutter & Etzel

This could change things even more for HS sports

Assume it will close to pass in the Senate. What a deal, rich dude gets a tax credit for a donation to non-profit, non-profit provides scholarships that can include tuition, transportation, and other education related expenses. I have nothing against the rich, nor for people wanting their kids to get the best education possible. Just seems like it can/will be used to bring more athletes to private/parochial schools. I guess time will tell, but if you think their won't be places ready to take advantage, you are naive.

Coach Mac leaving Seneca for Webb

Here is something to discuss during thr winter off season:

Given that several of my wc friends have mentioned Ryan as (in their opinion) the most likely successor to Rod, I have to wonder if this is the first step of that process?
