Never have I ever…

Heard a football coach in a publicly aired interview state that their teams goal is to win 4 or 5 games in the regular season.
Until I watched the preseason interview of Hillcrest(Springfield) coach on the ozone.
I mean, I know he’s being realistic based off of their lack of success in recent years as well as being the smallest(or second smallest) school in their conference, but I mean dang.
Set the bar low, don’t be surprised if your results are low. Good grief.

Amtrak

3 Fatality trainwreck 100 miles NE of KC at a crossing with no flashing lights, crossbar. Another earlier incident at a similar type crossing occurred in Stockton, CA. Meanwhile, commercial lines hauling China's crap, tar sands and coal into our lives run pretty much run 1000 times the trains with minimal derailments. Why are 80 mph Amtrak trains carrying 200 + passengers crossing unimproved intersections? If we can't answer that question, we should shut down Amtrak.

Lutheran North Schedule

This the most competitive small school schedule I've seen.

Plays Hazelwood Central week 1

rest of the season plays Blair Oaks, Maryville, Lutheran St Charles, St. Mary's, and MICDS.

Never seen a small school schedule so loaded with State Champion level competition.

I guess when schools like John Burroughs, who had no problem beating everyone by 60 earlier last decade during their run, are too scared to play you, you have to go to other areas of the state to find games!

Shout out to BO, Maryville, and others for taking on the challenge. Would love to see more of this.

Everyone wants to go 12-0 before they actually play a real team. not these schools.

NEED HELMETS

Smithville High School needs 17 medium helmets. Have large helmets recently reconditioned and reconditioned yearly. Would really prefer Riddell Speed Flex that have been reconditioned. Will trade, can paint! Does anyone need larges? Have 14. We are flat white with white cage. Please email Jason Ambroson at ambrosoj@smithville.k12.mo.us. Hopefully we can work together to battle this shortage. Have a great day.

Are kids bigger sissies nowadays?

I am not trying to be mean, but good lord, I have seen some kids in pathetic shape at the high school age. I know there is a lot of staring at computer games and cell phones, but good god. I get the impression overall, that collectively, we have a lot of softbodied kids out there. I've seen some presentations by high school football trainers about having to dumb down workouts compared to those developed 10-20 years ago. I knew the soccer-mom movement to turn boys into weaklings has been gaining steam for years...thoughts? ( Know Bosko will perk up when we mention soccer moms.)

And since I don't want to be someone that just complains and doesn't offer a solution here is mine:

Required gym class:
All classes start with 800m run or line drills. All classes have some element of strength training.
Then games--or whatever.

CNN Reporting Hunter in trouble. Entire Biden Family Dirty?

Washington (CNN)A Justice Department investigation into Hunter Biden's business activities has gained steam in recent months, with a flurry of witnesses providing testimony to federal investigators and more expected to provide interviews in the coming weeks, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.
The probe, led by the US Attorney in Wilmington, Delaware, began as early as 2018 and concerns multiple financial and business activities in foreign countries dating to when Biden's father was vice president. Investigators have examined whether Hunter Biden and some of his associates violated money laundering, tax and foreign lobbying laws, as well as firearm and other regulations, multiple sources said.
To do so, law enforcement has gathered information from lobbyists connected to Hunter Biden, from his business partners, and from others who've observed his financial engagements, including a woman with whom he had a child.
Hunter Biden has not been charged with any crimes and has denied any wrongdoing. His father, President Joe Biden is not being investigated as part of the probe of his son's business activities, according to sources who have been briefed.

But the ongoing investigation has persistently raised questions about the ethics and behavior of the President's son and fueled right-wing political attacks. In 2019, then-President Donald Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate the Bidens over Hunter's work for Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, eventually leading to Trump's first impeachment.

So the Justice Department is heavy into an investigation into Hunter Bidens foreign business dealings including money laundering. Funny how Trump saying Hunter was dirty and trying to get prosecutors to investigate the guy got him Impeached???
