But the story doesn't change.
If you can find it, Vice used to have a series called "Abandoned" and one of their episodes was on how many vacant school buildings there are in St. Louis. Don't remember if it would be more recent than this article or not.

So we squeeze all of the best students in the city into private schools and three public schools and then the rest are left to go to shit?
Why don’t you volunteer in one of those schools and quit whining like a little B.
