Will Trinitys and Lutherans BYE week count as a home game for each when

From what I read on MSHSAA the home game count only starts at the district finals and beyond. Games before that do not figure into determining who gets home field in the state quarters or semis.

I believe the "home game" count begins with the first game of districts.

From MSHSAA on the first game bye. A school receiving a bye “does not” count as hosting a playoff game. A bye occurs when a school has dropped football after the release of district assignments and prior to the posting of district brackets or when there is a district with less than eight teams at the release of district assignments.

If Lamar makes it to the semi-finals, I see no way the semi-final game is in Lamar if it is vs LN or TC.

I stand corrected. Went back and re-read it and agree with you. My mistake was reading the word "playoff" and forgetting that in MSHSAA's world, district games are playoffs.

It is difficult to look at district games , as part of the play-offs. The quarters, semis, and finalists, are the only true play-off teams, in my opinion. If you win your district, you are a play-off team. If you don't, you were nothing more than a pretender to begin with.

Quarterfinal: The host team for the quarterfinal round will be determined by the following:
1) First, total the number of playoff games each team has hosted. If one team has hosted more games than the other, the host will be the team that has hosted the least. Note: A school receiving a bye “does not” count as hosting a playoff game.

2) If both teams have hosted the same number of games, the host will be the team that did not host the district championships.

3) If both teams have hosted the same number of games and in the event that both teams hosted or did not host the district championships, the host will be the team on the top of the bracket in odd-numbered years and the team on the bottom of the bracket in even-numbered years.

Semifinal: The host team for the semifinal round will be determined by the following:
1) First, total the number of playoff games each team has hosted. If one team has hosted more games than the other, the host will be the team that has hosted the least. Note: A school receiving a bye “does not” count as hosting a playoff game.

2) If both teams have hosted the same number of games, the host will be the team that did not host the quarterfinal round;

In class 3 the district 1 and 2 quarterfinal, District 2 only has 7 teams. The 1 seed gets a bye so they only host 2 games. This means they have hosted 5 out of the last 7 quarterfinal games. The 2 they didn't were because the 2 seed in district 1 won the district and it happened to be a year when the team on top hosted if both hosted the same amount previously. Pretty frustrating when you never get to host the quarterfinal game.
