The Hannibal kid is the real deal. He's only a junior, so those stats are for 2 years. He's definitely D1 talent, but from what I hear grades/test scores will be an issue. Most likely a juco player then maybe D1.
Where's the Film?

Just Checked,
Damien French has no film (its Jan 2020) from his Junior season or at least that I could find. No vids at all on Hudl.
Only athletic info I found is his Athletic.net page for track and field......
personal best in the 100m is 11.51 and 200m is 24.21
gonna very safely assume he isnt D1 athletically or at all for a RB but there is no film to confirm.
Definitely not D1 speed
Good thing Michigan didn't think the same thing about Hassan Haskins. He was a 4.7 guy, and seems to be doing just fine at RB at a D1 school.
"Speed" isnt the end all and be all.

Of course it isnt the end all be all. But those times are extremely slow. Those are JV times.
Also Hassan Haskins ran for 2200 yards and 34 TDs and was Class 6 first team all state. Different level of player. Michigan was also his only Power 5 offer and they came into the picture very late.
Those are JV times? Interesting, because former Trinity and current Texas wide receiver Marcus Washington ran a 4.75 40 coming out of high school...why would Texas want someone running "JV times"?

track times that slow point to a 4.85ish 40 times. Thats extremely slow freshman/JV track time
Ok well that "slow" kid went to Texas to play receiver.
My entire point is you're condemning this kid with incomplete data. You don't know his shuttle time, you don't know anything but a 100 meter time and his height/weight.
JV time where exactly? In the majority of the state, for a majority of kids, 4.7, 4.8 is FAST even at the varsity level.
