Bolivar didn't really have any seniors, so, I don't know, it seems reasonable they could return.

Didn't Hillcrest have only 1 senior? Granted that senior was really good, but that's a lot returning if I remember correctly.

St. Charles has something like 8 seniors, and Notre Dame has 10 I believe.

Bolivar could very well be back next year. Lose 1 senior, return all 5 starters, young supporting cast that will get better over the summer. They will be much deeper next year and have a very good coach. their showing at state was youth vs. senior dominate teams. Don't be surprised if Bolivar is back!

The MSHSAA should let teams move up a class if they have interest

There is little doubt that Barstow with be the team to beat in class 3 next year but Father Tolton, Madison Prep and Cardinal Ritter can put put up a serious challenge. Ritter will have a 6'8" transfer eligible next season and will team up with their starting 6'"8" center this year. Ritter has a couple of very good guards as well. Madison Prep and Ritter are in the same district. Madison Prep defeated Ritter 71-70 this year but if the 6'8" transfer was eligible this year, Ritter most likely would have won class 3 district 5.

It may be time for the MSHSAA to let Missouri teams move up a class if they have interest in competing @ a higher level. The four team listed above would have no problems competing for a class 4 state championship next year.

1, Barstow
2. Cardinall Ritter
3. Madison Prep
4. Father Tolton

I agree... Like move on up to their OWN class. Four PUBLIC school classes that are required to play by the rules and one for all the others... Level the playing field...!

Valle Catholic vs. the MCC teams...sounds like a level playing field.

Re: The MSHSAA should let teams move up a class if they have interest

Well.............................we can certainly scratch number 3 from that list for next year since it has already been announced that St. Louis Public Schools is closing that High School....................................

I would think Bolivar would have a very good chance to return. I think there was only 1 senior on their roster and he was not in the normal rotation.

For Hillcrest, Brady Petry will be a big loss but I believe he is the only senior in the rotation on a team that I think started 2 freshmen.

Swish, Where will the Madison Prep basketball players enroll

Madison Prep has some very good basketball players who could help other programs. I'm guessing the Madison Prep players will follow Tony Irons to his new high school or they could enroll @ other St. Louis Public schools. Does anyone out there know if these basketballs can enroll @ a private school like CBC or St. Louis University High?

All the above is only a guess but the Madison Prep players will be playing somewhere next season.

Re: The MSHSAA should let teams move up a class if they have interest

And what would that class be, with the multiplier, that moves all private schools up to the next class. Like all public schools play by the rules.

Re: The MSHSAA should let teams move up a class if they have interest

I assume, from this link, that some other states put private schools into their own category.
Example: Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia.
Can anyone confirm this?

2014-15 STATE CHAMPIONS (BY STATE)

Re: Swish, Where will the Madison Prep basketball players enroll

As of the Small School Weekend..............................it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that both Coach and Players would all wind up at one particular St. Louis City Public H.S.
