Does Dylan Cole count? :D

Lead LR to their first and only state title (meanwhile LR hasn’t had so much as a winning season since he graduated :()

Went on to be an all American LB (albeit in FCS) and currently plays in the NFL (two seasons and counting...)

LR is a current Big 8 member (even if they weren’t when he played)

What about Brian Deem (SP) from CJ I think he played Early 80's was a running back. I think he rushed for close to 2000 yards his Junior year. Lead CJ to a semi final appearance I believe either his Sophomore or Junior year.

I think the best on the team from those years at Cassville was Nick Pinalto. I think that’s how you spell his name, total beast.

Pinalto was for sure. There were a couple of lineman in 08 and 09 that didn't get much recognition because they just ate up blocks. Glory went to the LB corp from Cassville, but Garrett Mahurin comes to mind. He was doubled on almost every snap of the ball.

I agree that Elbert was a beast and would maybe have put him ahead of Crouch, but he didn't play his Sr. year. He was def. a man among boys though before he stopped for baseball. Which was completely understandable with the money that was on the line.

Yeah would have loved to see what Elbert could have done his senior year.

Mitch Ware, Aurora QB, now offensive coordinator at Army. Still holds records at MO State.
Kenny Downing, Aurora MLB, RB. pound for pound, hardest hitter I ever saw. Barry Switzer talked about him in is book. All big 8 DB at Mizzou, MVP of his team in the CFL. His son Dawson is RB at MU, another son, stud LB at Bishop Miege(sp)
Pat Talbert, Aurora OL Tackle, Mo State, drafted by New Orleans I believe.
Darrin Newbold, Aurora RB, LB. Drafted in NFL
Justin Britt, OL from Lebanon. Won SB with Seatlle. Still playing
Alan Barbre was a horse and dominated the LOS.
Alan Cockrell QB at Joplin Parkwood, Univ of Tenn. His thighs were huge.

The best players I watched play person in both Big 8s.

The Mayor of Fanville when he played LB at Oklahoma. Pro career was disappointing but at the college level I don’t know you could find a better LB.
Crouch from Seneca

Jared Beshore has been mentioned as he was a 4 time all state player. But offensively Jared and Levi Petersen were amazing dou in their senior year not counting the state championship game they rushed for the following.
Levi 2,182 yards a 10.5 average per carry with 37 rushing touchdowns.
Jared I think missed a game or 2 for injury had 1,246 yards, 13.1 yards per carry and 23 rushing touchdowns.
As a team that year not counting State Championship game (I don’t have stats for that game). Lamar rushed for 6,310 yards for the season, averaging 12.2 yards a carry, averaging 450.7 yards a game and 102 rushing touchdowns.

As a side note Lamar only attempted 41 passes and completed 20 for the season.

Crouch, saw him as a soph, thought that year he was best rb I'd seen up to that point. Elbert only played three yrs, so I would go with crouch. Sater was awesome, that whole team was.
