We’re talkin old school Big 8 as well. I’d love to hear some of the classic players from the years who were great

Johnny Rodgers of ole Nebraska U............Barry Sanders...
Barry Sanders...
Barry (the bootlegger's boy) Switzer didn't pay his players................I'd agree on Sanders...could have been Marcus Dupree if he'd stayed on the OU payroll for another year or two.
Mac Whitehead Greg Cook Shannon Crouch from Seneca.
Not a skill position, but it would be hard to argue against Alan Barbre. He was a monster. Can't recall anyone else in the conference making it to the NFL, but correct me if I'm wrong. There were a bunch of really good players in the Big 8 for multiple schools in the late 70s-early 80s.
For me who I have seen in person some names I gotta mention are
Thomas Brock QB - MV
Ben Hoensee T - Monett
Zak Porath - CJ
BILLY SIMS (my MoSport name, "runbillyrun" ) That Ebert kid. I thought he was as good even better than some other notable Seneca players. STUD ISLB and STUD RBHow does Elbert’s hold up to those guys?
In my opinion, as a high school football player Hoensee was far better than Barbre. (no offense to Barbre)I'm really surprised someone listed a T. If you are going with a OL, shouldn't the pick be Barbre?

Tomas Brock from MV was one of the most exciting High school players I’ve ever seen. My fro year his Sr against Monett he broke something like 13 or 14 tackels in play then took it the house for 65yds. It’s somthing you just don’t forget seeing.
I still wish the 2006 Cassville MV game would have happened. Brock didn’t play qb in 05 game because of injury and Cassville won pretty easy I think.
Elkins was a beast and not many stopped him those years for Cassville.
Rashaan Salaam Colorado
Tommie Frazier Nebraska
Jamel Holloway Oklahoma
Kordell Stewart Colorado
Lawrence Phillips Nebraska
Ahman Green Nebraska
Darian Hagan Colorado
Eric Bienamy Colorado
Those were the good ole days.
Signed a card I had after a game. Still have it. Those are my fondest memories as a Mizzou fan, with a road trip to the Grove with about 15-20,000 fans and a big win a close second.Phil Bradley. Dual threat QB who is the only 3-time Big 8 Offensive Player of the Year (1978-80).
The good ol’ days indeed!Heavy run and lots of option football. Nebraska I back to Sooner Wishbone.
Did Hohensee even play his senior season? In my opinion, as a high school football player Hoensee was far better than Barbre. (no offense to Barbre)
