Now that we have had a few years in, which environment does everyone seem to like more? Could/Should Arrowhead ever be considered an option? Could a smaller stadium like Missouri Western or Southern on different days be better for packing the stadium for a better feel? I for one don't like having State at a giant stadium in which fans only fill less than 5% of capacity.

The dome was neat and climate control was nice especially if you wanted to watch several games and the weather was bad. But I didn't love it being in STL and more than anything I didn't like the empty cavernous feel because it was so grossly oversized for the event. I'm just talking from a fans perspective, I know kids really liked the sensation of playing in a venue like that though more so than MU or MSU.

Given my choice as a fan I think I'd alternate between Faurot and Plaster. I really think Plaster is the best fit for the event all things considered but I doubt many will share that opinion.

It's a tough call.

I would be curious to see how the attendance numbers fair compared to the Dome years. I never had a rooting interest but would regularly spend both days in the stands watching the games. No way in hell am I going to sit out in the elements most years, for a game I have zero rooting interest. Got lucky this year with the weather.

Agree for fans like me that will watch all games, the dome. Plus in a bad weather game, young little brother/ sister and elder grandparents, aunts and uncles can still attend to watch a loved one play in the biggest game of his life up to that point.

Arrowhead won't happen, has to be a turf field with that many games in a two day period. You left out the best environment I have been to for a state championship, Plaster Stadium in Springfield. Seating is smaller and you are closer to the field.
But Lamar and Webb would have home field every year if held at Plaster each year

Dome. MIZZOU/the drive/the environment is not fun. The seats are garbage. A D1 school has seats that a lot of “higher to do” high school stadiums have. At least the Dome was fun and comfortable. The Dome may be further, but it’s far worth it. And it doesn’t feel like it.

Of the two listed options, I will be a homer and go with Faurot Field since it is a central location. Fortunately the weather was really nice this year and I can't recall a time that Faurot has hosted from 2017 onward where the weather was that bad.

The problem with Missouri State or Central Missouri is the fact that either one in theory could be in the mix to host an FCS or D2 playoff game and MSHSAA would have to move the Show Me Bowl at the last minute. They did a really good job handling the Covid restriction situation last year but they had a couple of months to get that right. It would be a lot tougher if they only had a week's notice.

I haven't been to the Dome for a game since the Rams left. I think it would make more sense if there was a football tenant there. If for example, the XFL hadn't folded so quickly. I wonder how much work it would be to set everything up for football for two weekends when football isn't played there on a consistent basis.

First, I like it way better if the playoffs are concluded Thanksgiving weekend. Second, any outdoor venue beats the Dome.........................if you have nice weather.......................which you can't always count on. But, I'm one of the old-timers that like for the elements to be a part of the game, variable as they are and sometimes uncomfortable. While the Dome was comfortable, I always felt like the environment was sterile and cavernous and did not capture or even resemble the atmosphere of the regular season.

I believe the Missouri High School Football championships should be held in Pittsburg, KS.

Teams would have to bring their own bottled water. I believe kansas has been under a daily boil order since who knows when.

Dome!!! My experience at faurot field friday was horrible. The Traffic/Seats/Environment was horrible. They only had 1 Concession stand open on the West side and i wasn't waiting in a line for a hour for food.

Since Mizzou has money to Blow, Why didn't they decide to put a Scoreboard and Seating in their new Football training Facility that their building now. Look at Dallas Cowboys Practice facility , They have Seating and even Frisco high school football have their games played there.

Bring the championships back to Jeff City / Adkins Stadium

If KCMO politicians weren't such idiots... Sporting KC park could be on the MO side. Amazing Atmosphere for fb games. NCAA D2 national championships have been played there.

Looks like the dome is the winner. Blues, are you taking the action to have this fixed before next year?
I have no power. I was just interested to see how people felt. Personally I'm torn. I would prefer to see a smaller venue, centralized in the state the week of or before Thanksgiving.

Drop two rounds of the playoffs. Not every team deserves to be in the playoffs. But that's a separate conversation.

Missouri State was better than both, or find a neutral site in between both teams In 2011 Lamar and Lafayette County both had to drive to St Louis , when it would have been cheaper, easier and safer to play the game in Harrisonville.
Missouri State - SO much easier to get in and out and around.
Fans are not lost in a giant stadium and the support could be heard.

Coach Fox...
Now we never consider "distance" in Mo Hi School Football. LOL
It is literally the first thing one argues when it is suggested to rank the teams 1-32 and play it the tourney way it should be played. "but, but, it is too far..."
Then in the Title game two teams travel further to the game that they are apart.
That is pretty funny.

In all honesty, Missouri State has been the best spot IMO. Someone mentioned Sporting Park before and that would be a great location as well. I think for the kids it's probably a neat experience to play at a place like the dome or Farout, but any of the dozen stadiums around the state that seat around 10,000 would be such a better fit. You've got Springfield, Cape, Warrensburg, some of the bigger high schools, you could rotate to all 4 corners of the state throughout the years.

That actually makes sense.

Politicians? You mean taxpayers? How much tax burden do you expect a municipality (KCMO/Jackson County) to take on? They've built and continually renovated Arrowhead, Kaufman Stadium, Kemper Arena, and the Sprint Center. The bonds weren't even paid off on Kemper when the Sprint Center was built. And the voters were told that if they built the Sprint Center, an NBA or NHL team would come, which they have not. At some point, the corporate welfare has got to end before it breaks the taxpayers.

This is the first time in a long time that we can count Plaster out because Mo State might be in the playoffs. Just sounds weird.

Didn't MSHSAA alternates between Plaster and Faurot after leaving the dome? Why did they stop alternating between the two sites?

Had to do with the games being Thanksgiving weekend. Every other year MU would be playing Arkansas on Friday of Thanksgiving weekend. The year the state championships were at Plaster because MU and Arkansas were playing at Faurot field on that Friday. Now with state championships being the first weekend in December they don't have to alternate between the two sites.

The new MLS stadium in STL may be a perfect venue…it is essentially has a roof over the whole stadium sans the field and the capacity would be about perfect…just a thought.
Maybe rotate between that and the one in KCK, lol. For whatever reason Kansas City has a much more difficult time keeping cool things on the Missouri side of the border.
