Again, we spend more on healthcare by far than any other industrialized country for no better outcomes. You run a business, right? If you spent more than all of your competitors on an equal or worse product, would you be spending your money wisely?
The right to life is not in the constitution. It's in the Declaration of Independence. However, those documents do not grant us rights. They protect those enumerated rights.
Providing affordable health care by controlling costs but still having people pay a fair share is not communism. It's what we do with electricity and water. It's what we do with farm subsidies. Keep prices reasonable. No one is asking the government to buy everyone a car or a gold watch. This is a goal that can be achieved without putting an undue burden on your precious inheritors of wealth or CEOs whom you worship.
And God forbid we take a more expansive view of what basic rights deserve support and protection than the Constitution did. We have the ability to provide food and health care to an extent that was impossible then.
Do we charge for electricity and water based on income levels? Do we MANDATE people buy electricity and water? Apples and oranges.
