Where will you be?

Pierce City. Home opener. A win against Jasper would go a long way towards a successful season for the young Eagle team.

I think it could be close. But not real sure about that. I've said someone would play Maryville close before and I was dead wrong. So who knows.

Just from past experience watching the two play I would lean towards LN.

The X Factor in this game however is the fact that "Liberty" is no longer the only game in town and may just have a chip on their shoulder's.

01) Dropping from Class 6 to Class 5 due to North.

02) Sharing the same field that once was only theirs. (Except WJC) of course....Play is at William Jewell College

03) Losing classmates and friends to North.

04) Hearing for 6 years that you go to the "New School".

05) Loss of success the pass few years due to enrollment loss to North.

06) And the fact that even though they have never met in a "real game", over the years 7 on 7 match ups have gone to North.

Friends I know who are connected with the team's say the kids take it quite seriously when school pride is involved.

All in all being from "Kearney" and now live in Liberty these upcoming match ups are going to be fun.

Again it is a shame that they "both" could not lose... Lol ;)

At East St. Louis watching Helias vs. Altoff, then CBC vs East St. Louis.

I know I'm going to be branded a racist now. Just couldn't resist.

Lol what's going to be different? Just a bunch of people watching (hopefully) a great football game.
I was merely talking about three religiously affiliated schools and one (very) public school. Duh. Seriously though, those should be two good football games...and I would imagine some dandy people watching could be done as well.

Lol. Cahokia plays Sumner earlier in the day, I'm just debating if I want to go out there that early.

Yeah.

The No. 4 large school in theSTLhighschoolsports.com rankings, CBC (2-0) travels to No. 1 LS East St. Louis (1-0) to play in the nightcap of the first Gateway Scholars Classic “Battle of the Border.” Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

There are two other games on the schedule as Cahokia (1-0) plays Sumner (0-1) at 1 p.m. Althoff (1-0, No. 1 SS) takes on Helias(1-1) at 4 p.m.

I'll be enjoying some Willow Springs @ Cabool action on Friday night myself.

I will say again, I'm thoroughly looking forward to making the drive to Valle to watch the Valle/Lamar game later this season.
