Trump has decided that anything the Dems claim needs to happen he'll just 1up them. Can't wait to hear the Dems start talking about restraint.

I’ve actually been thinking the same thing. Is this virus bad? Of course it is. Is it going to end the world? No.
The thing that gets me is everyone saying how lightly he has taken this and how poor of a job he has done. Have you ever thought that if he was truly doing such a poor job that all those professionals that are behind him EVERY conference he has done would speak up?? All of them have been on national tv doing interviews with the media on both sides of the isle and not once has any of them said Trump is doing a bad job. If they truly thought he was doing so bad, why would they stick with him? Why wouldn’t they just leave?
Early on, Dr. Fauci contradicted him on several occasions, so he did speak up on national tv.
Why is he still with him? If he’s doing such a terrible job, why stay on the team?

He downplayed it as a "bad cold", "we have it contained", "it will be over in a month or two" , everything is fine, and selling his magic beans until a week ago - all the while the experts were telling him he was wrong. Experts would correct his misinformation after every time he spoke. Well, what happens when the virus blows up? The past 3 days he was singing a different tune!! Today he said he knew it was a serious pandemic months ago practically before anybody else, everything is now going just as he planned all along, blah, blah, blah!! The man wouldn't know the truth if it bit him in his fat a$$, and his minions gobble up his lies like pussycats lapping up milk!!

Maybe that tax cut for the wealthy wasn't such a good idea now. But what the hell, Trump will just throw more billions at this problem like he has everything else and the national debt will be someone else's problem. He's proven he is good at spending, after all, the great businessman filed bankruptcy 6 freakin' times. He's making Obama look like Ebaneezer Scrooge.

I hate this stimulus/rescue package as much as the last one but the economy will not be pretty with EVERYTHING shutting down without some support.

You guessed wrong. My point is it would be nice to have that lost tax revenue in the vault. There's a lot of people going to be hurting real soon after missing a couple paychecks, and it's not going to be the wealthy.
Trump is getting good advice that we need stimulus now. And he’s also cognizant that his odds of getting reelected are better if it looks better out on Main Street - especially if it looks like he played a part in it.
I also gotta say there’s a huge difference between ongoing UBI and one time Keynesian stimulus in the time of a systemic decline in aggregate demand
this is pretty traditional economics of the sort we’ve had for close to a century now. Yang is pushing for something much different.
I guess I'm all in now for Socialism...I think Trump should confiscate everyone wealth and property who Make over 100 grand a year and redistribute it to the masses. ...I will now stay home Drink Guinness all day and if I get hungry I will Order Pizza while I binge watch various shows on my streaming services.

Jesus, man, not remotely true relative to the size of the economy. Inflation and economic growth are real things that affect government revenue and spending every year.

Seems like the big plan they had worked out and Trump praised both sides for has hit a snag. Pubs in the senate have added amendments that would drop a several million folks off the list of those allowed to get some money. They want it limited to only those in education and several other issues that will restrict who gets it. You can look it up, I can't remember all the things they want changed so I assume it will be dead on arrival back in the House.
Sadly, the people at the NYTs have to be reminded that just because governments intervene in a crisis, doesn't mean to do this all the time.
BERNIE, Sieze the equity of private companies and put workers on the boards because they know how to run companies.
