Interesting that you know his motive. I haven't read that. Point wasn't fearing for safety. Point is the difference in putting hands on a woman vs. a man.
Where did I argue the point to be able to hit a woman? I don't advocate hitting anyone, regardless of gender.
It's not okay for either to hit either...Why is this a hard topic to grasp?

I figured in this thread, we were discussing things relevant to this event, not abstract ideas.
It is just as okay to hit a man as it is to hit a women..... both are equally WRONG. Both shouldn't happen. It is 100% wrong, but you can't get it through your head that no one is saying it's okay. We are saying it's wrong, regardless of gender, but that doesn't fit your thinking, because you think it's okay to hit a guy.
Yeah, that's easy to say now. Was bob stoops somehow confused about what happened? Further proof he should be fired. At best, sheer incompetence.
Unless it was a different interview than I have seen he did not say that if the video had been released when it happened he would have been gone. He said that the world had changed in the last 2.5 years. He talked about being able to rehabilitate an 18 year old. And that is not possible any longer and that there is now a no tolerance policy. He owned up to the possibility of making a mistake in how he handled it and understands why he has drawn criticism from some circles. If they were to fire him every school in the nation looking for a coach would be on the phone with his agent.

It is not okay to hit women... Stoops never said it was. You want to act like he was not punished and no matter how you want to twist it Mixon was suspended for a year. There can be some debate on if that is severe enough or not, no doubt.
As far as your post there are a lot of things you dont realize, but we already know that. It is amazing how you want Stoops fired but did not have any problems with the way Pinkel handled Washington. (yes, I know that has nothing to do with this situation.. but it has everything to do with your credibility)

When I was reading this, I kept flashing back to the stuff I read from Baylor fans this past summer.
Different situations for sure and zero chance Stoops is fired but I have to laugh at this notion that two and a half years ago it was just sort of frowned upon by society if you broke a girls face in four places with a punch, now it is really bad if you do that. Really, really bad justification by Bob Stoops.
You didn't answer my question before, did Mixon lose any playing time as a result of his "suspension," or was he the first player in NCAA history to be allowed to play 5 years?
Your question has been answered over and over..... YES he did miss playing time... He would have played as a true freshman and did not..... you can spin it any way you want. He did not take part in any team activities for the season. He would have been allowed to.... I know you want to spin the redshirt year... and that is fine.. you will do whatever you can to make it look the worst you can..... that is fine... the fact remains he sat out a season he would have played.
He did not lose one game of eligibility because of that punch. That is an undisputable fact.
