Yeah I dont mean WEBB should be scared to play them for fear of losing, its just a game. I just think the WEBB players have enough pressure on them mentally already than to throw in a game against somebody nationally recognized like Jenks. The pressure they aleady feel from not being the ones that got beat or that didnt win it all then add the pressure of playing these bigger programs like the ROCK has got to be overwhelming at times. My youngest was a junior in 07 even though from 7th to 12th grade their class lost one game and it was to cTOWN. The first time cARTHAGE beat WEBB in 20 yearss. It wasnt "we lost" it was "we are the first team to lose to cARTHAGE in 20 years." Its like that week in week out for these guys with almost every team they play in the regular season. The kids in 2013 didnt just lose a regular season game to Har-Ber which by no means should ever be considered a bad loss they knew they lost a game that cost WEBB a 96 or so regular season win streak. I think continuing the tradition means more than their personnal accomplishment, thats tough to deal with.
As far as the coach I dont know him and he very well may be a great man, I hope he is. I do know he/the program got caught doing wrong at least twice as they forfeited games in 08 as well. I dont know very many people who arent remorseful after they are caught wrong doing. Dennis Rader was considered a great person. President of his Church, cub scout leader then he goes and gets arrested and gets 10 life sentences and his true identity "The BTK Killer" is known. Point is and definately not comparing the two by any means just making an example. Its easy to say Im sorry after youve been caught. I dont think Belichek is a bad guy he just does whatever he can to win if that includes bending breaking the rules so be it. Yet he is hated, difference?
