Webb City vs Harrisonville...... Who Ya Got?

Webb City is going to go into the game as the favorite. No point in not admitting that and it definitely helps prevent a letdown after the CJ win that H-vile won last year and is the defending state champ.

I'm more interested in people's takes that have seen H-Ville this year. They lost to Pittsburg who I think is a very solid team and lost a close one to Platte County. The team last year bottomed out in the middle of the year when several of their key players were hurt and came back late in year when their do everyone except drive the team bus guy went beast mode. I know H-vile avenged an earlier loss to Grain Valley but I know nothing about them other than they had a good record.

What is the scoop on H-vile this year?

I was at Pittsburg/Harrisonville game... Pittsburg was the more dominant team that night. Harrisonville didn't impress me at all. I believe Webb City wins by 28plus

Harrisonville is the kind of team that it will take to beat Webb. Hard nosed, play D, run the ball, and no turnovers. I don't think they have a chance if Webb plays remotely turnover free. Turnovers would make it possible though.

Although I also favor Webb pretty heavily wasn't this said before this game last year?
You are SO right Hat!
I hesitated before making that predicttion. I typically get to a Webb game once per season. I did see that game against Harrisonville last year. They had a kid that was literally involved in almost every facet of the game --- an amazing athlete.
I went ahead and made that prediction for this year based solely on how much better Webb City looks--- but, I'm talking completely out of my rear end with Harrisonville because I have not seen them this year! Keep me honest!

Much like last year, Harrisonville had a rough patch early in the year. This year, however, it had more to do with getting people in the right positions (lost a lot of senior starters) and not so much injuries. Also like last year, they seem to be playing the best ball of the year right now, which is what this coaching staff seems to be good at.

In terms of the team, not a lot of size, but a lot of speed. As you saw last year, they run the veer first and pass when they need to. May be passing a bit more this year than last. Have been hurt by penalties in quite a few of the games (first Grain Valley game they probably had 170+ in penalties), but cleaning that up as well.

Webb is definitely the favorite going into the game, and probably by a comfortable margin. Will take Harrisonville playing their best game, no turnovers, some big plays, and creating turnovers to have a chance. Of course, that is what I am rooting for!

Webb City 62, Kansas City Chiefs 3
Be nice. Chiefs have played a wacky schedule filled with contenders and still have complete control of the AFC West. I would bet anything they go no worse than 6-1 after the bye (which Andy Reid loves).

Webb 42-14, Harrisonville has lost to every good team they have played. Grain Valley is an over ranked middle of the road class 4 school. Both played in one of the weakest districts, GV would have been the 6th seed in Platte Country district. Can't wait to see the Webb/PC match-up in the championship.

It will be the semifinal in Webb if they play

This WC team is much better than last year. No comparison. I believe this will be their best game to date, in part, because of last years performance. Harrisonville will have to play at a higher level than they played last year to get past this years Webb team. I do hope they bring in some additional bleachers.

Hope they are better hosts than they were in 2010. I am still going strong on my 7 year boycott. Jerks.

Webb will not let down after last week's CJ game. These boys are on the "Redemption Tour" as they are calling it and Harrisionville is the last team on that tour to a date in Columbia! They will be ready, they wanted this game and they want to return the favor at their home field. Webb 42-12!

After seeing them Fri nite nobody in class 4A stops Webb this year.

35-7 Webb

We can pretty much just pin this quote at the top of the board for every year from now on. Right? Should of done that 10 years ago.. or 8, or whenever lol.

Adding to this assessment: They have a couple of good hard runners. They have trouble with the pitch phase of the option (putting it on the ground). Their passing game consists of throwing up 50/50 balls to a good receiver who comes down with a lot of them. They've used a lot more spread formations in recent weeks, but when it comes down to it, they'll be in split backs. They have a very good defensive end who plays fast and hard and will run down plays from the backside. Their defensive alignment is basically an odd front, and they will bring blitzes from anywhere, particularly from the wide side of the field with a double edge blitz. They sometimes seem unsound on their defensive alignments, but the effort they play with usually makes up for it.

From some maybe. I did not. I will say it this year. WEBB wins in a route. Last year was last year. Ozark had never beat us, cARTHAGE once in the last 20 years and CJ hadn't beat WEBB again in 2-3 decades. They all pulled it off last season...WEBB CITY 44 Hville 10 if they have a kicker if not 44-6 lol..

The 44 seems high but I have to believe our offense is a TD better than Pittsburgs along with revenge being a mighty beast..

I would say this game has the potential to be closer since Harrisonville is a ball control team. Might limit WC offensive possessions. The only bad thing for Harrisonville is that no one has been able to establish a run game. Harrisonville will need some early tos to keep this within striking distance.

There is not much ball control going on when you repeatedly go 3 and out.

I hope you are right. #7 is pretty good. Might be the best we have faced all year and Harrisonville has improved every week. I still believe our defense is the best in Class 4 and probably could compete with anyone in the state so I don't think they score more than 14. Nobody has done that all year.........

Technically Carl Junction scored 21 against Webb, or actually 33 if you count all 8 quarters.
