I wouldn't expect them to lose this week.
I'm very conflicted on what they have week 11 as WC has a history of getting it done and GV is down this year. I can tell ya cal preps has WC a 1 TD favorite on neutral field in playoffs but it will be in GV.
Week 12 they are in a coin toss
Week 13 they are very likely to lose.
That died at least a decade ago and is part of the reason my enthusiasm for Webb City has waned over the years. Today I don't think they have more or less class than any other school. Except at losing, they are worse at losing than anyone and part of the reason I think so many other schools hate them (besides getting beat so many times over the years) is because when someone does beat them they won't give any credit. They either spin it some way of beating themselves, blame officiating, or they say we're still better overall just look at our trophies.
IMO 3 things have happened. One is society has changed. The old standards of discipline just don't seem to resonate in general anymore. 2 - More recent admins don't seem to run the same tight ship approach that Barton and Lankford did. Maybe because of reason #1, they just can't. At least not at a public school. The last reason is because of too many move-ins that don't care as much about culture they just hopped the border to see their kid win so they can spam it on social media and at boast about it at work and family gatherings.
IF Webb-Carthage is the district final that is about as "anybody's guess" as it gets.
What a great game this was to watch! So glad KSN airs games like this one. I wasn't going to drive all the way to Webb for this one so it was really nice that it was on TV. From what I saw at the end of the game both teams were definitely in the wrong. Joplin kids running up and down Webb city's sideline and obviously taunting them is not ok. also, a Webb kid #4 I think, going after one of those kids is for sure not ok either. It's a shame because this tainted what other wise was a good clean game.
Also honest question, I had someone tell me this but I did not see it. Is it ok in HS football for a receiver to step out of bounds then come back in and catch a ball? I honestly don't know the rule.

I remember that because I still have the helmet with the stickers on it.
I believe it's a 15 yard penalty for illegal touching. Did that happen in this game?

Like I said I didn't see it just had a friend tell me that #18 for Joplin went out of bounds before catching the game winning conversion.
It would be a flag if the refs saw it but they miss things all the time
Losing should go down like a bar of molten lead, agree, but my old philosophy is INTERNALIZE, ANALYZE then pop right back up and go at it again.
Unlike many of you here I coach, mentor and train adults but always can tell which ones learned the value of the aforementioned versus the "poor sports" who likely never will get it.

I was just honestly looking for an opinion on the uniform. I kinda tend to like the powder blue jersey with the red pants and white helmet.
I eat in Nixa a lot, but that's where it stops. Not a fan and definitely didn't go to HS there. Stick to what you know best, Webbie. Jean jackets and losing football.

After this year, I don't see them losing much for the next few years. They get the QB next year and return a lot and the freshman on down classes for the next few years are talented. I'll leave coaching out of it, but from a talent perspective there will be plenty.
