Can't speak to his JBS entrance exam, but he nearly doubled the average score of 1st round running backs on the NFL's entrance exam...Wonder what Zeke scored on his exams.
The very reason we settled in southwest Lee's Summit when we moved to the KC area. It sure wasn't the affordable housing!People move to communities because of athletics, academics, quality of life etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
I dig Fred, I really do...but there was plenty of rumblings in his time at Staley. Make no mistake, he's as good as they get in MO HS coaches lore, but...ya know...Dr Bouchard seems to have done well at Harrisonville, Staley and MICDS so far, and its borderline impossible to get into MICDS, so he isn't recruiting there
You should see what housing has become up here in the Northern outskirts............mind boggling! The very reason we settled in southwest Lee's Summit when we moved to the KC area. It sure wasn't the affordable housing!
Wow you included SLUH. Even way back when had a student down the hall at UMR who said getting into HS was tougher than college.............and many of you I am sure know how "easy" it is to get into now MO S&T.I don't get your statment on the ability to limit who enrolls and how that effects anything. The process to even attend JBS, SLUH, and MICDS is harder than attending most colleges.
So MICDS and JBS keeping their class size smaller is to gain an advantage in sports?
Its cute you think their admissions even cares about that, at all.
SLUH is very selective, but less selective than JBS and MICDS, its still academically very tough.Wow you included SLUH. Yeah, I flirted with a job in Liberty our first year up there. It was just as bad or worse than where we were at the time. Got a pretty good buddy who's the supt at ES. I'm blown away by the growth in that area. You have to go quite a way out to find a true small community now.You should see what housing has become up here in the Northern outskirts............mind boggling!
Highway 92 between Smithville and Kearney is an obstacle course because they are (finally) widening it out plus we are getting a new I 35 ramp and exit where they've cleared out a whole bunch more land and my oldest sister's neighborhood continues to grow and grow and grow. For those of us who grew up with a feed store, red light 4 way at 92 and 33 and the ole Clem's country cafe it is mind blowing. As for Liberty................OMG.Yeah, I flirted with a job in Liberty our first year up there. It was just as bad or worse than where we were at the time. Sound bitter, were you cut from the teams?Quality of life? Have you ever been to Webb City? That place is isn't that GREAT. I know first hand I lived there.
Played and was never cut from the team.Sound bitter, were you cut from the teams?
The football culture at the Poo isn’t the same as in Webb. The talent pool wasn’t as deep…Coach T. and his staff did what they could — a town with 5 public high schools makes it tough to build a football dynasty. With the exception of the KHS boys BB- and how it was assembled- I just don’t see how any football program in Springfield can develop a talented, deep, committed and complete roster that can compete with the Webbs, Carthages, Nixas…Kurt Thompson did ok at Kickapoo but didn't come close to replicating Webb and that is with access to basically every kid in Springfield.
Coach Rehagan can answer that question for us.Do you suppose that some of them might stay in public schools for retirement purposes?
Actually any kid in Springfield can choose to go to Kickapoo so any good football player could choose KickapooThe football culture at the Poo isn’t the same as in Webb. You just stole my intended line..........Sound bitter, were you cut from the teams?
I tried to bore this thread away.................see it didn't work darn it.Highway 92 between Smithville and Kearney is an obstacle course because they are (finally) widening it out plus we are getting a new I 35 ramp and exit where they've cleared out a whole bunch more land and my oldest sister's neighborhood continues to grow and grow and grow. Impressive since Webb doesn't do cuts for football nor do most schools . If you do summer weights and show up to practice you are on the team . Look at their sideline every year and they will have a few 4'9 110 pound kids standing there in pads . Will there ever play ? No. But they put in the work so they are part of the team .Played and was never cut from the team.
I’m not so sure about that…Glendale has a passing offense / balanced running attack that is lights out when it’s going…(I’m sure each school has its strengths) I haven’t worked in that district for years now... Was a different process back in the day. Then again…🤷🏾♂️Not my circus Bro.Actually any kid in Springfield can choose to go to Kickapoo so any good football player could choose Kickapoo
@Mr Goldtooth I played for Coach Kurt Thompson. Who did you play for?Played and was never cut from the team.
I mean, seriously, I was kind of blown away by how dumpy it was the first time I drove through it. Obviously a nice school district, but the actual town itself...You'd have to have some seriously shaded Cardinal red and powder blue glasses on to think it was much more than a nice dump.Sound bitter, were you cut from the teams?
Everybody needs a blocking pad with feet that moves a little.Impressive since Webb doesn't do cuts for football nor do most schools . They get the free shot at any HS from 8th to 9th year, IIRC. It's a circus beyond that though. There are a list of athletes over the years that have moved within district that have magically become eligible. It's an absolute cesspool from top to bottom.I’m not so sure about that…Glendale has a passing offense / balanced running attack that is lights out when it’s going…(I’m sure each school has its strengths) I haven’t worked in that district for years now... Never heard of him.Coach Rehagan can answer that question for us.
AT LEAST WITH PUBLIC SCHOOLS, THE FAMILY HAS TO ACTUALLY MOVE. UNLIKE THE FOOTBALL PRIVATE FOOTBALL FACTORIES.There is no way a public high school can win 15 State Championships since 1989 without a little special help, I mean recruiting.
