WEBB secondary needs to turn to the ball OMG one hand swiping at the ball is not good..,#1 for Joplin will deserve a vacation after this one, the do everything!!

Have seen two of the worst pass interference calls I've ever seen!! Call in the end zone was clean as could be. Pitiful...

Onside kick fail and horrible pass intereference call leads to a 52 sec TD for the Eagles....hmmm #1

BS, right in front of us. There isn't face guarding in high schooL to my knowledge, kid never touched him..

Onside Kick when you got less than a minute left, 2TD lead and the ball starting second half.
Thats......., too bad.

Sorry stinks my post was to Drill king, you just slid your post in between us, lol. Hell I don't knock w I may be wrong everyone around me agreed there was any face guarding. The call on their first score run got in front of the CARDS bench looked the same way!

Ya the first one Webb had position and receiver should have been called for interference.

Overall, I was impressed with Joplin. Program headed in the right direction. Should be 8-1 or 7-2 depending on Carthage outcome next week, Joplin will have every chance to win that one. Webb City almost looked better with Hicks in at QB instead of Beason, wonder if it would help that defense out to flip Beason back to D and let Hicks run the O.

? Really, that's where your going with that? Let me guess we squib kicked it because their return game was killing us? I think JROD wanted to get the ball back and put up another score which is not uncommon for us to do to close the half out. Joplin kid just made a great play and came and got it, it definately was not kicked hard, why squib it easy to give them the ball at midfield? Onside kick, he wanted it back!!

I agree Hicks threw the ball very well. Kinda surprised me on the quick crossing routes how accurate he was. Joplin has some horses especially no 1 and a good sized line. I bet they give cARTHAGE all they can handle and then some. Haven't seen cTOWN as of yet but think I'm going with the Eagles in that one..

Watched online,,if it wasn’t for that blocked punt TD to turn the tide the Webbies might be 1-1

That definately got the fire going but what did you think about the pass interference calls? The first that led to Joplins first TD, JROD went nuts about looked like a clean play. Wondering what the commentators said. The one in the end zone was right by us. Clean defensive play. Then Joplins last score. Interference in the end zone, first down. They run the ball, call a to. Pass the ball WEBB calls a time out. "2nd down" we were like BS they've ran two plays!! Didn't matter as they scored anyway but mighta played different harder knowing it was third.

I believe it was a squib kick, but if it was an onside it was an extremely poor onside kick.

Y'all realize the difference right? Squib is usually used to avoid a returner who can hurt you or has. Onside is to get the ball back. Ten yard, recover, score again. WEBB will play in 15 games, hopefully, if so or regardless how many, if we score with short time left before the half we will onside kick to try and get another quick score 30+ % of the time. Joplin didn't scare us in the return game, matter of fact WEBB kid kicked it in the end zone all but once I think. We do it a lot, way more than any other team I have ever seen. Who knows, Seth called it before it happened, I believe JROD wanted another shock factor going into half...Heck the way they threw the ball to no 1 why would you give them the ball with the wind at their back and a short field with 50 seconds left? Two things I've learned about JROD watching him for his 20 years, he will onside unpredictably predictably to rip your heart out and it is very very common for us to get a turnover and immediately go for a homerun ball. Our loss to Springdale to break our huge long winning streak a few years back we were running it down their throats. We got an interception at midfield and immediately I said "don't do it John" boom threw the deep ball just to be picked off and the momentum went with it. Hey I think the dudes the greatest high school coach to ever step on a field but he still does a lot of things that if paying attention through the years you know exactly what is coming before it does..

Not sure you saw the whole game, the only kickoff from the Webb Kicker that went into the endzone was the opening kickoff. Otherwise Joplin had returns to around the 25, the 35, and across the 40 before the “squib”. And it was a squib, they were trying to keep it out of Westmorlands hands

I agree to disagree. And yes stood beside their videographer, north end zone the whole game. Some say horrible kick if it was an onside wanting to recover, Uhm how about a 10 yard squib. I would say that would of been a much worse squib kick. Heck if they were afraid of a big return, lol, why give them the ball at the 45, wouldn't you just kick it out of bounds or atleast hard bounding along the ground? Regardless I will ask John and if wrong will apologize for the banter...

I spent the whole game on the Joplin sideline. The kick was fielded at the 27 yard line. One would be hard pressed to accidentally kick an “onside” kick almost 35 yards..... go watch the video if you don’t believe me.... Webb had Lewis stopped around the 36 but he broke free and took it past midfield

I'm riding to kill some birds with three double ring youngins that say "NO CHANCE" it was s squib, wasn't even part that of their vocabulary. I'm going with them..Where did you watch the video I looked for about 5 secs then gave up?

Let’s just say it was a squib kick poorly executed enough to make someone think it was an onside kick.

Joplin was kind of “who I thought they were”. They are going to light some teams up this year and apart from possibly Carthage I don’t see them losing until they meet up with Kirkwood in the district semis or final. Results last night notwithstanding this is one of best Joplin teams I’ve seen in quite a while.

Only week 2 but it sure appears 3 teams are clearly a couple levels better than the rest.

He’s probably annoyed he had to answer questions like that. That’s the life of a HS coach though.

About

100% of that came AFTER that blocked kick I think :)
Losing your starting QB could have been just as big of a momentum shift. Webb put 500 yards of offense on them, 400 on the ground doing what they do every week, with a back up QB.. Many other factors decided that game being a win or a loss in my opinion.

wont be surprised...joplin d not stout enough to stop a good offense.

Totally disagree. I thought their D played alright to pretty darn good. We wore #1 down or Joplin themselves wore him out as their do everything guy, he was pretty impressive. Take away the block field goal returned for the TD and their D only gave up 30 something. Who doesn't give that up to WEBB? I think Joplin surprised us s little early and think cTOWN better study that game film. They will have their hands full.

If someone can let me know how to post a screenshot from my photos I can post a pic from Sergio ( Webbs kicker) stating it was a squib......( I’m not technically advanced enough) I hit the insert photo and it asks for a url and doesn’t allow me to put pic directly in.

The only thing poorly executed with it was the tackling. The ball traveled almost 35 yards to the 27. ( hard to mistake that for a onside kick) they had him stopped around the 36 when he broke away....

Dude you take a whole bottle of Viagra? Slam it in the door a couple times and let it go....You win, squib kick which I think would be piss ignorant at that point of the game.
