Here and ready for another season in two weeks. Looking forward to visiting new towns on the 8-Man circuit. 8-Man is where you roll into a community to find the only thing open is the Casey's and all the fresh pizza is gone from the carousel. Where your cel phone not only doesn't have any bars, it shows "SOS" in the upper left hand corner. It's the division of football where the visitors dress in the ag shop; fans back their pickups up to the edge of the field and seem to be constantly drinking from a red Solo cup; fields where not only is artificial turf rare, but in most cases there's a field of corn nearby if not right up next to the stadium. But it's a wonderful option for the kids in these small, rural schools that love the game just as much as the kids in the class 5 and 6 programs with stadiums that resemble cathedrals.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the BEST time of year. Scr-w the holidays, opening weekend of the high school, college, and professional seasons is what we live for. Safe travels, best wishes, be reasonably kind to the visitors (and don't be a d-ck if you are the visitor) and have a great time! Soak it all up. Out

Well written post here, @86THS ! The only thing you left out were the fantastic naps everyone gets at the 8-man games! Kids get to play the game they love and the spectators are treated to some of the best sleep of their lives! Win-win!
