WC vs. CJ What will this game look like

And CJ is poysed to begin a dynasty with all of there young players: Weston, Kennedy, Ludders, Berliew, Duley, Wall... they could make a championship run. 2016. 17. Maybe 18. Definitely 19, based on what the young kids are doing in 7th grade.

Stamp it.

Pretty sure you are kidding but in the case you aren't:
1. WC's team on the field Friday night will be younger than CJ's and will return more starters next year. CJ will probably be good again but WC will likely be very good.
2. The JV team beat CJ 45-14
3. The freshman team beat CJ
4. The 8th grade team tied CJ
5. The 7th grade team beat CJ 38-6.

If CJ is going to get it done, and they might...this year is the year to do it.

When you compare WC & CJ statically - WC: 4,130 tot. offense - CJ: 3,294. TD's - WC: 53, CJ: 36 (18 of those by Weston, much like WP with Hoopes - of course no one has stopped him yet, so if WC stops him, that puts some real pressure on the rest of the team to score or move the ball). Interception - CJ holds the edge 16 to 9. Will that make a difference Friday night - possibly, especially if WC decides to become a passing team all of a sudden. Speaking of passing: WC: 1,151, CJ: 1,619, per game it's - WC: 104.6, CJ: 179.9. Of course Webb has all those fumbles, but over the last 4 games they have virtually cut them out. So, who's going to win - Webb has the grudge and now has the confidence. I agree, with what was posted early - Refs and inadvertent whistles and calling back a touchdown for WC the whole night might have been totally different. Webb by 14!
But that confidence is against who? Totally different game Friday as compared to last 3-4 games. Webb by 14, wow, I do hope your right... im just hoping they can keep the fumbles to below 5.

Good analysis = valuable, interesting

Predictions = pretty much meaningless, since one person can say Webb by 14, another says a tossup, another says CJ is starting a dynasty now.

Your valiant effort to support your bullpups is very admirable. However, your struggle to spell a rather rudimentary word such as poised (poysed), let's me know that we aren't dealing with much more than a grade 9 education. Because that's the case, I guess I will have to go ahead and explain something to you. In order to begin a dynasty, you first have to win a title, which CJ has none of if my memory serves me correctly. Beating a Webb city team (current dynasty), in a very sloppily played week 1 game does not begin this supposed dynasty you're so confident they will start and does not make you a champion. A win for you guys this Friday would also far from make you a champion in anything outside the district. As a matter of fact, CJ didn't win the conference this year, as a very tough team in Carthage did. Let's pull back on the reins a little and take about 40-60 % off the dynasty talk. The team that plays more disciplined, more physically, and more mistake free football will win the football game Friday night, and at that point, the winner will be far from being crowned the class 4 champion and that my friend, you can stamp. I've got a really good feeling that some folks in CJ might wake up on Saturday saying, Toto, I have a feeling we're not in the Big 8 anymore.

I know several of the TDs allowed by CJ were against their JV defense or at a point when the regular offense was no longer in the game and moving the ball, such as the last two TDs by Bolivar. I'm sure the same can be said for Webb. So I wouldn't put too much stock in comparing "points allowed".

Bottom line is, both of these defenses are really good now and have been playing class 5 teams all year. In fact, 3 of those class 5 opponents are playing this Friday in disctrict championship games elsewhere.

Sustained drives may be held to a minimum. Big plays and turnovers should be the difference. Just not sure who will make more of either of those. Both teams have been taking good care of the football as of late.

Sorry but I totally disagree with you. CJ hasnt beaten teams that soundly to have JV giving up scores. Republic 38-20, 21-14 halftime, Neosho 35-28, Willard 24-20, 10-7 Ozark, and Branson 19-3. Who did the JV give up points to? Mac County who East Newton beat by 22?.. 57 of WEBBs given up points came in the first two weeks, cj and cTOWN. WEBB gave up 7 to Willard, Pittsburg and Republic. WEBBs JV gave up points to Branson in a 55-14 game and Marshfield 49-14 I believe West Plains scored their 6 on the Varsity though.

My opinion, CJ got a very inexperienced offensive WEBB team week one at home. I know alot do the blah blah blah "WEBB fans never give the team that beats them credit and always has an excuse" Well hello when you havent lost a conference game in 15 years and youve always played this schedule and your losses are to teams that havent beat you before or at best once in the last 25-35 years that should say something. With that JROD finally said heres the deal fumble and find the pine (aluminum) and some have...WEBBs O is to much for CJ and they will have sustained drives. Their Defense has played great all year and may be playing their best now. I expect a throttling. I remember in 05 in a turbo at CJ CJ scored on our second third maybe freshman team. The entire CJ stands started chanting OVERRR RATED. JROD put the starters back in, one play 60 yards like 60-7 game score. I really expect that attitude from the coaching staff. Not the score but the desire to say slow your roll were still here...

I don't disagree with your overall point, personally I think CJ will win a very tight back and forth game, but I definitely see and could agree with your argument. But one thing I do disagree with is that in the WC-Branson game, they were tied at 14.

I wouldnt either, reread I never say anything about a 14-14 tie w/ Branson. I said 21-14 halftime with Republic. Branson only scored 3 against CJ.

Branson scored their 14 points against our varsity but otherwise were shut down. They had 2 good drives. Hats off to them. Other than Ozark, Carthage, and CJ only team to have any success. Not sure how many of those drives were sustained vs. handing someone the ball from 20 yards out.

Neither CJ or WC has faced a good defense since Ozark. Turnovers has been a problem for WC. CJ has sometimes sputtered on offense (Branson and Willard). Also I would say that CJ has scored a lot of points defensively and through special teams. That is why it is imperative that WC hang on to the football and make CJ offense score.

I was at the Republic game. CJ was up 38-13 and the JV defense was put in with about 6 minutes left. CJ beat Neosho 35-20 and the JV gave up the last TD. The JV D gave up the last 2 scores to Bolivar. Not that it matters. They need to play better D.

You know, you Webbies sure are talking a lot of smack considering you have 3 losses on the year and my CJ boys have just 2, and we finished ahead of you in the COC standings. Remember that.

This may be a hard for you all to understand but this is CJs year. We almost had it last year. We WILL have it this year. We may beat you by 3. It may be 10. It may be more. A repeat of the 23-7 drumming we gave you in week 1. But we will win. Most of you dont live in CJ. You dont know how this team feels and acts and how it believes. This is CJs year. Webb City, Harrisonville, Kearney - don't matter. This is CJs year.

Stamp it.

You might as well throw out the first game. WC looked downright bad with 8 turnovers, but honestly CJ didn't look great in that game either. Since then both teams have steamrolled a few teams and given up losses to the same teams. I would argue that WC has taken bigger strides forward, but they also had further to go! Both teams are playing pretty well right now and turnovers (or lack of) will likely be pivotal. It will be an entirely different game than week 1.

Fans of either team can dig up this stat or that record and claim it shows their team has an edge but really anything could happen. WC could come out and hand CJ 4 fumbles to open the game and it's over by halftime. CJ could struggle on offense against WC's defense and they are down 21-0 at half.

The only thing I would say with any certainty is that it will be a great crowd and fun place to be friday night! Stamp it!

This reminds me of the posts that used to be so common on this board back in the early 2000s before the coaches started banning their players from the site.

Im not a player. Well I was - in 1988. Just a fan who thinks CJ has the best class 4A team in Missouri. Is it a crime to root for your team? You webbies. Jeez

I love the whole this is our year jive. You sound like you're probably a Cubs fan as well. I do understand that you guys finished ahead of Webb in the conference. That is a matter of fact. You didn't win the conference, and you will not win the state title. That's not my way of guaranteeing Webb will either. This years class 4 bracket could go to a handful of teams and that makes it a lot of fun to watch. I do know how "this team feels and acts and how it believes", because I lived it, albeit on a whole different level. Every team left in the class 4 bracket believes they can win it as they well should. I'm just saying my guess is CJ will be all out of stamps come Saturday.

I thought the Lamar-CJ banter was over the top the last three years. This CJ-WC thing is pretty good. If both towns keep playing at a high level this could become on of the best rivalry games in SWMO, if not the state. Good luck to both teams.

Another interesting point, the last team Webb played that can be considered above average was Neosho, they won 33-28 but turned the ball over quite a few times. Turnovers could return again against the Bulldogs.

Agreed and the last defenses both teams faced that was of good quality was Ozark. So we have no idea how the offenses will play Friday but we know the defense will be good.

I only mock you because you are trying to stir. It will be a great game and one team will win. Hopefully WC, but I would say it is 50/50.

I think Flint222 may be from Kearney, but with all of these misspelled words he can't be from one of our fine Large COC academic schools.

Agh he's a WEBBie with a new nik is my guess, cARTHAGEMOM comes to mind!!! Doesn't know the difference between here and hear or classified or not classified. WEBB wins running away with it. I said it after week one, districts by 3 tds over everyone WEBB faceS and that I thought the title runs through Kearney. Don't worry cricket boy it's not revenge were after its a reckoning...

Do like the banter though and agree it's atleast fun to go back and forth about something like the old days rather than just reading the MUs getting SEC$s bs.

Before week one, the pre-game talk about CJ-Webb was similar. CJ fans had some confidence following last season's 14-7 loss. Some Webb fans were cautiously optimistic - others were quite confident or even cocky. And CJ went on to win 23-7.

The banter here isn't all that different.

As for me, it is not shocking at all to see them going head to head again in week 12, and if anybody called it a tossup I'd definitely agree with that.

If somebody wants to take Webb as 14 point favorites, I'd put a basket of Hackett Hot Wings on it and take the Bulldogs.

I wouldn't take either by 14. I guess if you are willing to take CJ by 14 that would be a bet I would make.

Youve got today, Wednesday and Thursday.

After Friday night, crickets.

Keep chirpin redbirds

I've come to two different conclusions, "Flint222" is either someone from Carl Junction who just loves to talk mad Sh!t, or it's possible we may have a young Cardinal digging for bulletin board material. (I'm not saying that's who this is or making accusations, but you never know.) Just seems a little odd that they just started posting on this exact thread and I've never seen them on any others these last few years.
