Wg has a great program and great parents that have lived there for a long time. Most of the parents were previous players or connected to this program in some way or another. Many players start playing at very young ages on travel teams. This team has a great group of freshman that have some good size and length and a great point guard to go with the size. Great programs can graduate great groups and not worry cause they know another great group will be coming at some point to fill there shoes as has happened this year.
Good Luck Wg Lady Tigers at your 10th Final 4 in the Last 11 years. Pretty impressive to say the least.
Am I misremembering or was Coach Henry's job on moteachingjobs last spring?
Did WG have some move ins?
Henry's job wasn't posted at any point that I was aware of...Also that group is pretty much freshman led from what I've seen this year.
And like you mentioned in your other post, a really good run for Golden City. Pretty cool story there.
Walnut Grove/Delta game sounds like it should be a good one. I have no idea the style of play for WG or if they have faced teams similar to Delta this season.
Imagine Delta wins by a lot. Hope i'm wrong. Cant imagine anybody will root for Delta other than people from Delta. What a garbage coach (David Heeb) that thinks he needs to play bad teams and run up the score on them.

Only way you are doing this is pressing all game even with the running clock in 4th.
It'll be interesting to see their style of play, that's for sure.
I see they beat defending Class 2 champs Ellington by 3, Ellington is of course back in the final four with all of their best players back from last season.

There aren't a lot of options down there for girls ball. You might not like Coach Heeb, but he's really good at what he does. Anybody that knows him, knows he doesn't hide from any games. He'd play anyone, anywhere, and at any time.
Just some facts...
- Delta has 54 total students grades 10-12 according to MSHSAA
- Delta's games broken down by class...One v C1, Six v C2, Four v C3, Four v C4, Two v C5, and 1 v C6
- They have one loss on the year...to the C5 school...who they later beat.
- The C5 school is Cape ND. The C6 school is Jackson. Both won their district.
- Again, Delta has 54 students total grades 10-12.
Your trying to justify winning by 80 - 90 points is ok if its against a bigger school? Trying to embarrass 14-18 year old girls is ok? They played 16 teams with losing records.
I have nothing against the Delta girls. They are obviously really good. It's the coach I have a problem with.
Maybe the other teams should press his JV at the end of games.
I'm not justifying anything. Merely pointed out facts after you said Coach Heeb needed to play bad teams and run up the score. They'll obviously play anyone, which is what I pointed out. You having a problem with the final scores is cool, saying he looks for bad teams to play to get those scores isn't. It's factually inaccurate.
If you don't know David, and I'm assuming you don't based on the comments you've made, he doesn't give an ish if you have a problem with how he coaches. His records speak for themselves, and he knows it.
They only beat that team by 30!

Starters were out early 3rd quarter. Don't recall them scoring over 15 points in the 2nd half of any blow out. Little different situation but whatever.
He obviously is only beating the bad teams he plays by 80 or 90. That being said he needs to play bad teams to win by 80 or 90. I guess its just a coincidence they play 16 teams with losing records.
The point I am trying to make is if its really necessary to beat a team by 80-90 points if you don't need too. If you and your buddy thinks there is nothing wrong with it then I will just agree to disagree.
Dude...given their schedule, yes I'd say it's a coincidence. If you know ANYTHING about girls hoops in SEMO, then you know Cape ND and Jackson are the class of that area for girls hoops and have been for about the last 30+ years. Again, Delta, a school of roughly 70-80 kids total played them. And beat them both. And those two teams went on to win their district, in C5 and C6. Given that info, if you question the schedule they play...well, question away. The facts are there.
80-90 point spreads aren't for me to judge. But here's what I know. Because of their location and conference affiliation they are going to play some REALLY bad teams. Like I'm talking teams that trot out girls that can't walk and chew gum, much less dribble and shoot and pass. Those games are going to get ugly and there just isn't much you can do about it, especially if your concern is your own team.
You can play dumb all you want. Up 52-10 at half and playing starters a few minutes in 3rd and winning 65-20 is different than being up 52-10 at half and scoring another 50 in the second half to win 102-20.
How do you sit all the starters with 9 girls on the team?
Is 50 the accepted victory in larry county?

That's lazy and uninformed. You could know him, or understand the situation when he left BC for SCC (where the allegations came from), or read the articles linked...or just make a lazy false statement. You chose the easy way out.
I just watched a game they won 101-25. The end of the 3rd quarter they were up 78-25. They scored 23 in the 4th with a running clock and with 3 minutes left 4 of the 5 starters were in the game and they were still attacking the basket. The other team had pulled their starters.
That's all I needed to see to realize he is a DIRT BAG!

How many mins of the 32 did the starters play? What should they do if not attacking the basket? Whip it around the perimeter and take a bad shot after so many seconds or passes? Asking your team not to play hard is idiotic. Playing JV players more quarters than varsity players is idiotic. To become so worried about the other team it has an adverse effect on your team is, well you guessed it, idiotic. Mind you, I’m not calling you an idiot…in the same breath I’m not calling my wife a bitch when she says something bitchy.
Playing starters in the 4th Quarter with a 60 point lead and risking Injury might be viewed as idiotic.
Not trying to develop your younger players in the 4th quarter of a blow out so your starters can feel better about the 80 point win also might be viewed as idiotic.

Thinking 99% of coaches are doing it wrong and this guy is doing it right might seem idiotic.
I wish Dave still posted on here. I can't remember how many Final 4s and championship rings he's got, but he'd need more than one hand to fit all the rings. So, idk about right and wrong, but he's more successful than about 99% of coaches out there.
Read the article. If you still disagree, so be it. But, I think most anyone that doesn't have a stick up their arse would at least understand the rationale.
A few things. You're awfully concerned with "starters". Pay attention to mins played, it's a greater judge of a players worth to their coach. Delta has one senior, so it's safe to say he is developing younger players. Be hard not to.
And just to be clear...50 is the jumping off point? Seems to be a sticking point with you. So 49 is good? 51 is bad? If it gets over 50...opposing team should have the main goal of getting back under 50? I get lost here.
If he is such a great coach why is he coaching class 1 girls basketball?
