Alright, post game analysis.

First of all, congrats to Valle on playing disciplined, fundamental football for all 4 quarters. They won and they earned it.

Also congrats to Fair Grove on a hell of a year. I think there were a lot of people who didn’t expect them to get this far and they did. Losing 4 OL and 3 DL but bringing everyone else back.

Most of the first half was an even battle. Valle scoring with 1:30 left in the half to extend the lead to 9 points before the break really hurt.

3Q was a dogfight until about halfway through when Valle got that pick 6 that was literally a gift thrown straight to the DB in the flats.

That was the turning point of the game. Fair Grove never quit, but Valle going up 16 put them in complete control of the flow of the game and that was it.

FG was big and physical and played hard but Valle was FAST. They won the war in the trenches and won the game because of it.

I talked to a handful of Valle fans while I was at the game and they were all very nice people.

However, the collection of Valle grads all standing in the north end zone has to be some of the most worthless sad sacks I’ve ever seen in person. Rivaling even Marionville sideline fans and that’s saying something.

And I decided not to go into the “trophy room” underneath the press box. Talk about a vanity flex.

The facilities were great, the field was terrible. Guess the money for the seed went to the trophy room.

I was in western BFE and had to drive through central, northern and northeastern BFE to get to the game today. Phew. The part of BFE where football doesn’t even exist. Eminence, Centerville, Ellington, etc

Anyways, this will be the last game I go watch this year in person and it was a fun experience.

Wish I had known you were there.....I wasn't in the north end zone:) They were probably from the beer gate across the road. They didn't re seed the field but a couple of years ago planted sprigs of grass that was supposed to spread. Looked pretty good the first year. About the only area of that effort that remains is the center of the field. Expecting another alumni appeal.
The Eminence/Centerville/Ellington area is a favorite area of ours.
