to hold campaign style rallies and say things he couldn't say if he was doing it at taxpayer funded events. He filed for re-elction on his first day in office so his campaign can raise money and his speeches can be those of a partisan candidate rather the president of all. Bush and Obama didn't file until they had been office for a couple of years. Now he can speak to his adoring fans and say stuff like "get em out of here" when he has protesters at his events and say other stuff a president of all the people can't say.

Ok how about this one? I don't recall the guy's name but he plays golf with Trump's sons. He ask why they were investing in golf courses back in 2008,09 when it seemed smart money was staying away from such things after the Great Recession. He told him, no problem we have plenty of investment money coming in from Russia. He said he just said it without thinking anything about it. Why not, he had no idea his father would become president someday and dealing with Russia could become an issue.

If the golf course that the Russians invested in, goes belly up, who do you think gets paid? The answer, both parties.

Apparently it was multiple golf courses when no else was building golf courses.

I don't care who would get paid if they failed, the whole point is it appears Trump has had financial dealing with Russians for a long time. Maybe you you recall him saying he doesn't have, and has not had any such thing with Russians.

Is he allowed to look at Russia on the map? I bet he owns Faberge Eggs too. Is that ok?

Bush and Osama had the backing of major political parties behind them.

Trump is on his own and will need every dollar he can get in the next four years to win reelection. Smart move

That is a ridiculous statement to make about an incumbent President. He's not on his own for reelection.

Odds are pretty good that Trump has more $$$ for the general election than his 2020 opponent will have, because his opponent is going to need to spend more in the primary. Incumbents also benefit from making their general election campaign ad reservations earlier, getting better return for their spending.

A scenario in which the incumbent is hugely outraised by their opponent for the general election is generally a scenario where they are going to get crushed because they are unpopular, not because they had less money.
