Top things to look forward to for 2019-20 football season (only one of these is true):
1)MSHSAA is moving Webb City to Class 4 District 8. This will make this the toughest district in the state beyond any doubt, but primarily it increases the chances that Kearney will make it far enough to meet Webb City every year.
2)Trinty, having graduating several D1 prospects, will fall back down to Class 2 and fail to advance past districts, proving once again that there is no I in team and only one I in Trinty.
3)Cards1968 will stumble upon the DB Cooper loot while hunting in Oregon and will never be heard from again, a truly sad day for MoSports but a great find for him.
4)Webb City and Lamar will form a co-op, and behind the co-coaching of JRod and Bailey the Birdcats (wearing black jerseys with baby blue pants and red accents) will win the mythical national championship.
5)MSHSAA, in an effort to eliminate the dreadful 1 versus 8 district first round blowouts, will implement a new format where all of the #1 district seeds are matched against each other in weeks 9 through 11, and the same is done with the #2 seeds, and so on. McDonald County will win the 8 seed championship in week 11, only to get beat 119-0 by the Webb City Birdcats in Week 12.
6)The Joplin Eagles will continue to get no respect from most MoSports posters.
In these days of such tragedy and hate in our country, take some time this week to appreciate what we have here in MoSports country – I hope our great state of Missouri which I’m glad to call home can continue to teach all of us to be great neighbors, stand beside one another, and stay strong behind our values and integrity that is so evident when you travel from small town to small town around here. I wouldn’t trade you people for any others.
