Top 20 MO high school teams in the past decade.

Since Moving to Class 6.

How impressive for Nixa:

2022 10-2 #5
2021 8-3 #7
2020 9-3 #7
Asterisk season as it was 2020 Nixa pushed eventual champ Ray-Pec right to the limit. Lost to Joplin in 2021 and was not nearly blown out by 2022 finalist LS North last year. Definitely should be very high interest in that Webb opener again this year on both sides.

Young Cantwell of Nixa will be the most recruited athlete in the history of Missouri sports.

At 14 years old, wins Class 5 shot, breaks class 5 state record. Oh, and he reps out 385 on the bench, and has been a long-time basketball player on competitive teams. Started on the line for Nixa as a 14-year-old Freshman.
Scored 33 on ACT as a Freshman.

I have heard that whole freshman core (now Sophomores) are very impressive and Perry seems to be very excited for the future of Nixa football on this kids coming up.

That's also the same time period since Perry was hired.

The game v Webb City will definitely be anticipated, at least by Nixa fans. Most of my Webb friends appear to be dreading it, just want to get it out of the way. It will be a very tough test for a new crew for sure.

I have heard that as well. A friend of mine who lives there had been groaning about their under-performing football program for years. I've never seen him so excited as the last couple years. According to him they are beyond stacked and will be a favorite if not THE favorite in COC for the foreseeable future.

We have several mutual WC friends who have been quick to remind him who is boss in those years when Nixa was overhyped. So I'm sure he's enjoying it now that the tables have turned. I know he sure enjoyed texting me to make sure I had seen Nixa win on that 2pt conversion at Carthage last year, lol.

My friends in Nixa did the same thing when Nixa beat Joplin. I remember talking to them in Nixa before the game started and they did say that Nixa would beat Joplin by 2 touchdowns. They was right of course. All excited in Nixa and I am excited for them.

MO Class 6 is going to be more exciting than ever this fall! I think this is an up year in KC as well then look at what CBC is taking on to toughen them up for the playoffs. Let's get this hot weather outta here and kick it off now LOL!

You know I went to watch Carthage play there 2 seasons ago, it was their Sr night and I believe COC was on the line. Before the game they had a little presentation of all the seniors (there were like 45 lol) and their best memory from their football career. The most common response BY FAR was beating Joplin... even though they had also beat Webb City. I found that very interesting.

What else was interesting is the last time I had been to a game at Nixa was when Carthage played there in quarterfinals. At that game I was pretty sure Carthage fans outnumbered the home Nixa crowd. However this time they had a new home side that could be mistaken for a small college stadium and it was totally full. Time have changed for sure!

Absolutely, and that Grey turf field is wild. Great atmosphere there.

I would expect no less. From a distance that Nixa at Joplin game looks like the COC one of the year. Thoughts?
I would expect the Nixa at Joplin game will be and I suspect a rematch in the playoffs as well. Joplin will have multiple weapons on offense. Joplin's QB looked good at the 7 on 7. Throwing some darts, I believe he is 6-3 - 200 lbs. And has an arm. The TE looked good last year and believe 1 of them was a freshman 6-2 220, the other is D1 at 6-7 245. Joplin RB is D1 6 - 195. Holt OL is D1 6-5 295. I believe Joplin lost 1 OL kid and a WR from last year so 9 returners. Defense for Joplin has a couple kids with offers but not committed yet. I believe they will return 7 but not positive on that number.

Nixa has a lot of talent but not sure who is stepping up to replace Green, Combs and the QB.

Class 6 is expanding next month but that could indeed happen. Still have this on my fall in person attendance bucket list. Both play Webb before meeting up, though. New HC and all doesn't everyone pretty much share the feeling the Cards are not gonna just drop off?

I bet WC comes out swinging. I don't believe they will just drop off.

Webb 0-1 to Excelsior Springs. LOL You admit another losing record to a Clay County high school. Bahaha.
K is like 41-22 against one of the worst schedules in the history of history the last 5 years.

Put up or shut up time joey. Track times and all.

Aren't they changing the name of the stadium at Webb to Mark Thomas Stadium, in honor of the beatings his team administered two years in a row there on Webb?
