She's totally wrong. I don't know how I feel about jailing her but she cannot do what she did.

Public officials have a different role in society than we do as common citizens. The court order reflects this. Her job is to administer the law as written, not to decide how it should be written.

Further the religious freedom argument is a smokescreen. something tells me if she tried to impose sharia law through her job all of her defenders would rant and rave about how terrible she was even though that falls under the same religious freedom edict they are saying. They don't want religious freedom. They want the right to impose their chosen beliefs, and only their beliefs, on others.

While I am opposed to homosexual marriage or any other marriage being sanctioned by the state, she has no legal authority to deny them a liscense. Her moral obligation would be to step down from her position if she believes doing her job would cause her to do something immoral.
