The timing is poor. Why someone like ag would like your post is beyond me. At least they are trying to find a way to pay for the things they are fixing without raising taxes. I thought that was the conservative way.
Realistically, they are making a long term change in expenses and only funding that over the ten year budget view. They aren't really funding them in the long-term with this.
There are a bunch of other really dumb revenue raisers in here that are fictitious. For example, they moved the due date of 2025 PBGC premium payments up from 10/15/2025 to 9/15/2025 so they can count that in FY 2025 (our government uses at 10/1-9/30 fiscal year so that means they get to count two years of PBGC revenue in that last year.) Not to mention PBGC revenue is already earmarked for the PBGC, not for defense or whatever else where the new spending would sit.
Makes sense to me. Add $80 billion to an already bloated military budget so they can cut SS and medicare benefits. WE must have all those pork barrel tanks and other projects the military says it doesn't want or need because there being built on somebody's home district.
