The latest mom gets shot by neighbor story.

It must be awesome to own a handgun and be a bad ace and be able to escalate situations knowing you are a gunfighter.
The surge of adrenaline must be awesome knowing you are emboldened to
go places and do things a rational person wouldn't.

Mom is out giving a driving lesson to 15 year old daughter.
There is a road rage incident and threats made.
So mom takes home daughter and instead of calling police,
she picks up 20 something son and his gun and goes hunting
for her neighbor.

The result? Mom is dead. Husband is screaming on TV blaming the media.
Online they are asking millions of Americans to donate money for
her funeral. Stop it.

If they didn't own a gun, would they have called police
instead of seeking out the killer? Would mom be alive?

And if some people didn't drink they and others would be alive too. Millions of good folks own multiple guns and never have problems.

There's more to this story if you look for it. They knew each other well. Lived close and apparently Mom had been trying to help the troubled kid through life problems. More will be forthcoming I'm sure.

Bad decisions were obviously made by all.
