Is there a full moon out tonight?

Craziest Friday night ever in MSHSAA history!!!

Joplin the best team in Class 6.

Bolivar is Legit

Harrisonville could be a threat to make it to the semi's

Helias was the team that we thought was going be a surprise but turns out we were wrong

Ladue is not a strong powerful team this year. Rockwood Summit will beat Ladue next week

There is a dark horse lurking in class 4

Upset madness
Mexico over St Charles West
Putnam County over Scotland County

What will next week look like!!!!

That darkhorse is named Grain Valley.

I was at the Rockwood Summit game. MICDS fumbled 6 times, 3 times deep in their own zone. Rock wood will get the brakes beat off of them by Ladue and it won’t be a game. Rock wood scored 12 points in the second half. MICDS Defense couldn’t stop a pass if you paid them to. I’m not saying MICDS gave them the game, I’m just saying neither team is going to beat Ladue this year

How was Rockwood Summit pass defense. I have heard ladue doesn't have a good running game this year but they're better in the passing game.

No idea, MICDS didn’t pass much, their QB missed a couple of open guys but they ran a lot. MICDS ran well on them when they weren’t pitching it to nowhere or random fumbles. I wasn’t impressed with either team. Summit runs the RPO well and has a really good tight end. Their lineman got called for being downfield a few times on the RPO. They didn’t have to drive far in the first half and were up 28-6 on really poor ball handling by MICDS, they won 40-26, it looked like MICDS was down to their 3rd or 4th Qb by mid 3 rd quarter. Summit has good size on their skill positions their line isn’t terrible big.

You said that last week! I guess if you keep saying it, eventually you will be right.
He's gonna be right this week. Lincoln has seen nothing like Platte County this year. Had Excelsior survived that would have been a near sure fire turbo clock game coming next week.

Just ONE round away...................praying IF Webb at Camdenton happens it is played on Saturday afternoon.

How the past 2 weeks been anything could happen!!!
Agree to a point. We are beginning to reach the deeper point of the postseason where the elite/cream will rise to the top. The best game (and one I will almost certainly attend) played within the KC Metro next Friday will be Ray-Pec at Liberty North. In this region what doubt is there that the Lathrop at Maryville game is #1?

Both of these, incidentally, are teeming with coaching connections. Makes both all the more interesting.................

Intriguing match up this Fri. night. Cammy plays Lebanon and those two Hwy. 5 neighbors and arch rivals always get after each other. Six weeks ago Cammy got them 28-0 and that was the fewest points scored by each team all season. Very contrasting offensive styles, with Lebanon running the flexbone while Cammy has opened up their game and feature a quick strike wide open passing game although they do mix in plenty of hard nosed running. This will not be a walkover. Turnovers and mistakes will determine the winner but Cammy is always tough at the "Jaws of Death".

De Smet just beat CBC 35-14. They're the best until they're beaten IMO. The fact that Joplin let up 48 points against Kirkwood is very telling. They have 10+ kids with D1 offers for a reason and then just several other decent players. They pound the football in a hurry up offense with three of the best running backs in the state.

Living Word Christian beating Centralia was not much of an upset. Centralia was undefeated but in a lot of close games all season while LWC was more battle-tested. If LWC had a slightly better line they would be a much tougher team to beat with all of their athletes and McMullen at quarterback.

Ladue ain't as good as last year, but they still have the tools to repeat and should keep on rolling until they face Webb or Camdenton in the semifinals. 18 penalties committed on Friday but still won 38-0 over a physical Westminster team.

Liberty North is beat up and might lose to Ray Pec.

Smithville is who I thought they were.

No one from District 7 is beating Platte County.

Staley isn't that good.

Lincoln Prep will get smoked by Platte County.

Maryville vs. Lathrop needs to be televised, but it won't be.

No more Severino at Rock. Watch out. There could be a new juggernaught in KC for years to come. Rock with a young vibrant, motivational and charismatic coach, could be incredible.

Staley is dealing with a major injury. This is two seasons in a row QB injuries have ruined otherwise promising seasons.

If Desmet is good up front as it appears they are and can pound the ball o. The ground it is a tough match- up for Joplin. That is Joplin's weakness. If Joplin can turn the game into a shoot out then they have a chance.

I'm still getting my head wrapped around the Lebanon win over Helias. I thought Lebanon might push them for a half, not blow open the game by the half.

Helios only played two good teams this year before Friday night and didn’t put up much of a fight in either game

Obviously Helias isn't all the way back yet and was a little overrated but Hannibal is still playing and Helias best them 46-0. Not that comparing scores is an end all but Bolivar beat Hannibal by 25. A win over Class 6 Rock Bridge isn't that bad either. I know little about Helias this year. Maybe they had some injuries.

What is tricky is judging COC and Ozark Conference teamed before the playoffs because they only play within the conference. The bottom of the Ozark for example is clearly very weak. Hillcrest losing 73-0 to Bolivar underscores that. On the other had Lebanon finished 3rd in the Ozark and handled Helias pretty easily and Camdenton destroyed Washington. Joplin has shown they are good again but Bolivar is First non-conf game for Webb City and (presumably) Carthage won't play out of conference until the quarterfinals against one of the middle of the pack teams in the Ozark.

My opinion is that the bottom of the COC was a little better than in recent years and there wasn't a bunch of difference between 4th and last. In the end though all we will have to base it on is how the top 3 teams in the league do.

I get the CCC was down this year (Macon, Monroe City, South Shelby fell back quite a bit) but that was an upset no matter how you slice it. Centralia was in 3 close games, Clark County, Palmyra and Mexico. Christian lost 4 and had a forfeit win. In their wins, the records of the teams they beat was 6 - 33. This was a 4 seed taking out a 1. One could argue it was the biggest upset of the entire weekend.

I would think a good 5A program would have another QB ready to go.

Next man up baby
He will be better next week. Key will, just like last year, be up front. Not sure how NKC will find a way to match up.

I'm headed to Maryville, looking forward to this one.

I think if he (the backup) knows he's playing going in, he'll be more ready than he was last week. He has some talent.

Ofallon christian loss to Duchesne High School and Westminster High School with 6 starters out due to injuries on a already small roster ... And did play the forfit game against Jennings and won... And have only loss one game against a class 2 team in Duchenne... The rest of there schedule has been vs class 3 and 4 schools ...

I think ladue toughness opponent the next 2 weeks would be Hannibal if Hannibal wins Friday. Hannibal has been on rolled since week 5 and they're looking really good. Hannibal almost beat Battle couple weeks ago and Hannibal could of won except for mishandles and mistakes. Hannibal defense is looking really good the past 4 weeks. Hannibal has a great coach in Quentin Hamner and he's known for his absolutely great defenses.

Ladue isn’t repeating. Class 6 and 2 are the only classes with a chance in STL. Which is pretty pathetic with all the picking and choosing of “transfers”. There’s a STL post board. Go check it out. (Hint) Bye.

Maryville vs Lathrop will the best game of the week possibly. In the running at the bare minimum.
