Also Saxony won at Dexter 50-44. Not sure that's considered an upset but a nice win on the road for a top 10 team in class 3 over a top 10 team in class 4. The big thing for Saxony was Raegan Weiser coming off the bench and playing big minutes to lead all scorers with 19 points in the game.

That's a good win for Saxony. I wasn't at the Lady Rebels game last night, but from what I've been told the following happened:
1.) Sullivan shot a very high percentage, which is a knock on the lady rebel defense last night and a compliment to the lady eagles for making shots, I don't know if they shoot it that well all the time or not.
2.) The lady rebels struggled offensively, which is a compliment to the lady eagles defense
3.) The press was ineffective against the lady eagles, which will have to get better if the lady rebels want to make a run in the state tournament again.
4.) Sullivan plays a very tough schedule so their record is a little misleading and if they played the way they did last night their record would probably be a lot better.
All in all kudos to the lady eagles, hopefully the lady rebels will relax and understand that the world didn't end just because they lost, they still have the pieces and ability to make a run.

I would guess Sullivan is playing something pretty close to the schedule they usually play but with much better results in the win column in the past.
I was told Skaggs had 23 of the rebels 36 points and the shooters couldn't hit much of anything. That happens, you just hope the defense can make up for it. Apparently Sullivan handled the pressure and shot it well. Maybe they're getting better just in time for the stretch run or maybe they just had an unusually good night. The loss for PH should not get them down, all streaks come to an end. Better to get that out of the way now than in the conference tourney or in post season play.
Saxony is playing well and the addition of Weiser is gonna help a lot. She didn't start the game, or the 2nd half, but when she got in the game she didn't go out much so her conditioning is not a factor. She shot the ball very well from 3 and the free throw line, along with helping with the ball handling and rebounding. Hitting her first three 3 point attempts probably helped her confidence and she went on to hit 8 of 10 free throws too.
