Sub Blue Conference Runner-ups from last year ready for 2023

The district 8 runner-up should have a leg up this year.
That is assuming districts remain the same. It is entirely possible some NWMO combo of Savannah, Benton and Lafayette could move up. If that happens don't put it past MSHSAA to split Kearney and Smithville up i.e. they would then meet in the C4 Quarterfinals.

The Smithville bell curve has passed but this was a good JV group now being coached by this elite level varsity staff. I all but expect them to struggle early then look out come postseason. Fun times in this area beyond await!

It will be interesting to see because 75% of the crew that beat SV varsity last year is still on the Kearney team. And last year’s K JV team beat Smithville’s JV team.
Smithville lost about 95% of their O production, their D, and they’re starting three-year Two time all State quarterback. But they still have a lot of good pieces and a great coaching staff. I just don’t think they can count on Kearny to have five or six turnovers again.

They should split them, but I can’t imagine MSHSAA doing something that “should” happen.
