Staley likely candidates

A couple more years of good recruiting and la cosa nostra money (just kidding...its a joke) and Pius will be playing everyone from Class 4 to Class 6 in the Northland...as an independent. I was only joking about the Mafia...buy Necco coffee. That's all I got to say. (Again, I am joking. Everyone knows this school is funded by God's money)
Spoken like a true RAIDER haha.

Posted this years back (when we still had O'Hara) but still would be interested in seeing KC metro form an all private small-medium enrollment conference consisting today of: ST. PIUS X, PEMBROKE HILL, HOGAN PREP, UNIVERSITY ACADEMY, SUMMIT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY and ST. MICHAEL.
NORTHLAND CHRISTIAN is 8-man so not, obviously, included.

@thetophat you usually have your fingers on the pulse of what is going on in the northland hearing any names being thrown around for Staley?

he's won a lot of games and multiple state championships. obviously a great coach. started coaching in 1980. 40 years ago. not sure its a fit for Staley. BUT he has coached at Jeff City a couple times, once on the old man's staff, with means something in JC.

Staley could be at a crossroads. The coaching Is too good in the northland right now. It wasn't like that a few years ago. Kids are not as quick to jump boundaries to go to Staley.
Just this fan's opinion but it seems Thomas is better suited to smaller/medium enrollment schools. His Belton venture did not go well at all.

Just throwing this out there, Waggle, but would one of Jones' assistants at North be considered?
Would certainly think so if interested. I honestly do not know of a "front runner" nor do I know all who have shown interest or are being considered. I know of a couple of STHS assistants and MAYBE Sims that have been rumored to have interest.

Hey Waggle, who takes these guys applications?

I would guess they start at HR, then school AD and Principal, would likely have District AD, Supt input and then board approval. Now, you know how the world works, certain steps and processes can be skipped if someone is deemed "the guy".

Oh I hear ya there. When I was pushing for Coach Nickerson hire, we might have jumped a step or three.

Now this whole "skipping steps" thing also works the other way. When its time for the coach to go! Just like how Ampipe ran Coach Nickerson out of town!

Hope they don’t skip the AD.

TAKE YOUR PIC ---- JACOB HEWITT OR JOHN CRUTCHER. KEEP THE TRADITION. LOOK AT THE CHEMISTRY AND CHAMPIONSHIP CULTURE THEY BRING. WHY BREAK UP SOMETHING THAT IS PROVEN.? YOU CHOOSE OUTSIDE OF THEM -- YOU WILL LOSE THEM!

Theres a handful of guys who have left to get head jobs and I’m sure if they returned they would keep the chemistry/tradition going.

A true outside hire, probably not a good idea.

new crutch would not get it
they had some interest from some college assistants also

I expect Staley will be having a coaching search again in the near future based on his age.

What happened to Sims? Another coach with KS success, and much younger.
Steve Rampy may surprise you. I expect this to be pretty long term. I think he is the PERFECT fit for the Falcons.
