Staley likely candidates

As astronomically unlikely as this is, one of the northland schools Park Hill, Staley, Liberty, LN, should try to schedule Pius, destroy them to quash any hype or momentum they have. If they were to lose or closer than expected, that would not bode well for them.

More realistically, they might accept a game vs Winnetonka or Oak Park, maybe NKC, if they were to win or play close that would be great for their brand.
Tonka I could easily see happening but don't think ANY C5-6 team wants to schedule a game like that, nothing gained if you win because that is expected BUT lots to lose if a C2 team, private or not, knocks you off. Were I Pius I would look to Highway 92 to schedule area teams. Any of those 4 (they and PC had quite the rivalry back in the day) would likely agree to play the Warriors.

there is some real deep football discussions on here. you have a group of idiots pretending to be characters from 1980's football movies. you must be new.

to restate, some dunce was talking about transfers. to some on here every excuse for their failures are due to private school transfers. I stated you would be crazy to at least not consider it. unless you like the teachers union screwing with your kid's futures.

you sensitive nimrods must all be in the teachers union. You can all be mad but its all true.
love your summers off. and your springs and your winters. plus if there is more than an inch of snow on the ground. and your afternoons when virtual teaching is over.

The larger question to me is HTH Staley stays class 5 cycle after cycle. Makes me wonder what kind of Chinese pencil they use to compute their enrollment numbers.
This BEGS for a Kane GIF.............honest answer is who knows? They should have gone 6 based on growth in their area alone.

Good to have four schools you can push boundaries on...a little too big at Staley...no problem, throw a couple streets over to Tonka or NKC. The cups are moving fast...see if you can tell me where the ball is?

That is boring and ruins the conspiracy theory.

It's always been 152 highway.

Interesting non-conspiracy story: the district lines drawn and released to the public around 2007-08 included a small area just north of 152 that was carved out to not go to the new school. I'm sure it was pure coincidence, but it was a good size section of low-income housing (mostly section 8 residents). The line was adjusted to just being 152 fairly quickly after some questions of perception (and reality) were raised.

Ahhh... the good old days ! Specifically, a certain segment of patrons wanted everything west of N. Oak and north of 152 sent to Oak Park. That would include the bevy of apartment complexes behind the old Quik Trip (no longer there now). Some referred to those apartments as "Fred's athletic dorms." Obviously it didn't happen.

Legends tell of a coach who would sit in the parking lot of that Quick Trip asking kids if they lived north or south of 152.

Yeah not a good record there. I believe Chrisman was a mess in general at that time. Several coaching changes...mainly resignations I believe.
yea chrisman has had some problems but simcox had a good program for chrisman, then crutch took over and had a couple of 0-10 seasons. Scorpio Horn really got things going in just 3 years , perry has done ok but the last 2 years have been tough

Too many of you rate a coach based on the job he has rather than the job he does. Chrisman wins when they have good players and lose when they have bad players. All four coaches you mentioned are excellent coaches.

so crutch wins like 1 game in 3 years and he is an excellent like scorpio horn?

I know it has been awhile, but back in the late 70’s and into the late 80’s the northland public schools did not fair well against St. Pius. NKC barely beat them in ‘79 and lost to Pius in ‘80, ‘81 and ‘90. Liberty played Pius for about 10 years and never won a game. Excelsior Springs lost big to Pius in the late 80’s and quit playing them. I see Pius leaving the MEC and going independent, so they could schedule whoever they want. I would like to see the northland compete against each other. A lot of the kids either know each other or played youth football against one another.

Crutcher would do just fine at Staley. But Fowler

Chrisman wins when they have good players and loses when they have bad players.
Wonder what the best seasons in their history have been?
According to MSHSAA website, in the last 11 seasons, they have 2 wins against teams with winning records.

Mark Thomas. Stamp it.

he's won a lot of games and multiple state championships. obviously a great coach. started coaching in 1980. 40 years ago. not sure its a fit for Staley. BUT he has coached at Jeff City a couple times, once on the old man's staff, with means something in JC.

Staley could be at a crossroads. The coaching Is too good in the northland right now. It wasn't like that a few years ago. Kids are not as quick to jump boundaries to go to Staley.

lol most programs work that way buddy, crutch had kids at chrisman sorry to break it to you

Several names swirling around, in direct competition with Park Hill being open, may speed the process up a bit.
Ya also interested and from my understanding Park Hill has not been posted and is not open

A couple more years of good recruiting and la cosa nostra money (just kidding...its a joke) and Pius will be playing everyone from Class 4 to Class 6 in the Northland...as an independent. I was only joking about the Mafia...buy Necco coffee. That's all I got to say. (Again, I am joking. Everyone knows this school is funded by God's money)

Posted this years back (when we still had O'Hara) but still would be interested in seeing KC metro form an all private small-medium enrollment conference consisting today of: ST. PIUS X, PEMBROKE HILL, HOGAN PREP, UNIVERSITY ACADEMY, SUMMIT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY and ST. MICHAEL.
