Tips at 2 PM. Wind the clock back to the district final double dip we covered here: Nixa-Kickapoo and OP-Staley. Both were outstanding games and I think most of us thought the two survivors would meet for all the marbles and HERE WE ARE!

Both teams seemed a smidge off very understandable given the stakes etc. Kian Evans narrowly missed a dagger to end the first.

Really outstanding one shaping up here. The program who expects to be here every year vs. the all star team that has been building toward a first ever title. A bit uncharted water here for Staley although Kian Evans (what else is new) made the huge shot to end the half putting them up 1.

I know some get sick of me saying it but AGAIN those pesky BLOWOUT REMATCHES. Very, very interesting to see how each comes out of the locker room. Kickapoo is dictating the pace by and large and playing with tons of energy but can they sustain it for four quarters (plus)?

This is the same floor they played on earlier this year in the TOC too right?

Poo went cold second half of 3rd and Staley started getting open looks and easy ones inside. NOW we get to the 4th does Kickapoo have enough depth/stamina to stay in this one? Impressive how Falcons responded after falling behind early in that stanza.

Kickapoo D is just finding themselves out of position somewhere on almost every possession.
A 13 pt swing for Staley since the mid 3rd Q
Staley committed to going inside. When you have a weapon like Evans that combo is so deadly plus I still think the Chiefs flat ran out of gas. Energy was through the sky to keep this tight first half.

WOOHOO CONGRATULATIONS STALEY FALCONS!!!!!! First ever Boys BB title! Outstanding second half simply wore Kickapoo, who gave beyond a game effort, down.

Now on to the final Boys BB title game of 2022-23 which I will only likely cover by quarter depends on my evening activities. Tip between Ritter and Ladue is 6 PM.

What was the deal with the Staley boys going over to the Kickapoo student section after the game?
