St. Mary's rolling Valle

Swore a poster told me a couple weeks back that Valle is better coached, works harder, more disciplined etc etc. turns out talent usually wins in football after all
You forgot one thing, Valle Catholic DOES NOT Recruit, I will Say that again VALLE CATHOLIC DOES NOT RECRUIT. It is known fact that the private schools and a lot of the public schools from the city do, and the public schools bus them in. For this reason a class 1 school with students and coaches get PUNISHED for working hard in the off season and get advanced to a class 3/4 school. Valle Catholic is the only private school that is getting hurt the most. Say what you want but this new stupid classification is all about recruiting Our coaches aren't afraid of playing upper classes But it is UNFAIR to the players to get accused of something that has NEVER HAPPENED(RECRUTING) in the history of VALLE CATHOLIC. JIM WILDER class of 1960 Forever A WARRIOR.

OK, thanks, figured he was fishing with calling St Marys "an above average Class 3 team". St Marys is impressive, as is Lutheran North. I can see them meeting again in the semis.

Irrelevant now lol but LN is much more talented than St Marys. Like the only reason they are competitive is because of Coleman. LN isnt 1 player dependent like them.

That sounds like a Letter that you sent to the Sports Editor of StL Post a few years ago...lol

must have fallen on wooden ears. sure wish we could have played Kennett, they were more in our class.
The alumni has really been supporting Valle with all the upgrades they have done. I told the Valle Foundation that they need to loosen the purse strings. Without students the infrastructure upgrades are nothing. I have not heard how many kids are in the freshman class this year. Sophomore class was up from previous years, I believe.

There's a lot of haters out there. If you haven't noticed there is a a lot of "if you beat me, you must be cheating" out there these days. Excuses satisfy the makers.

go play Webb city...until then remain silent....lmao

orchard farm wasn't a good team. Valle should be in class 2. What I like about Valle is they play mainly with Local kids.

Webb City has built their program the right way... with good coaching, hard work, a tremendous Community Support... what is ironic about your statement is that Valle Catholic has done it the exact same way. You have no proof otherwise... so why don't you remain silent.

Valle will be fine after next year. They'll drop to Class 2 where they belong.
I think they will be playing class 3 for 2 more years before dropping down to class 2.
I have 16 points for them at the beginning of 2020. Then at each year forward I have them earning 0 points since it is unknown what will happen. Here is how I have it figured:

Points 3-7, move up 1 class
Points 8 and up move up 2 classes

Valle Points:
2014 +4 Champ
2015 +4 Champ
2016 +1 District champ
2017 +3 Runner up
2018 0 Hayti won district
2019 +4 Champ
TOTAL 16 points Class 3 in 2020
********************************New System based on previous 6 years Points
New Points
2020 0 Total 12 Class 3 in 2021, Lose 2014 points (4)
2021 0 Total 8 Class 3 in 2022, Lose 2015 points (4)
2022 0 Total 7 Class 2 in 2023, Lose 2016 points (1)
2023 0 Total 4 Class 2 in 2024, Lose 2017 points (3)
2024 0 Total 4 Class 2 in 2025, Lose 2018 points (0)
2025 0 Total 0 Class 1 in 2026, Lose 2019 points (4)

The threshold is 6 points per class. They will drop below 12 points (what they currently have) after next year.

I’m finding it mildly humorous that someone from Valle is bellyaching about having to face better competition.
Valle doesn't have a problem facing better competition. Should also say fair competition and not having 70 boys facing a school with 350 boys. Most of the teams they play are the same size or larger. And Valle loses games as graciously as they win.

I have a lot of respect for Valle. More than most, if not all of the private schools. It sucks that your season ended the way it did and I even defended you guys on another post saying that the school you lost to had 5 times as many boys as you did, I guess it was just the post from wilder1 complaining about the success factor that had me laughing.
It was put in place for a reason, not because of Valle, but Valle falls under that spectrum because they’re a private. I do believe that Valle belongs in Class 2, but let’s be honest, the team that beat Valle was one of maybe just 2-3 teams in Class 3 that were capable of beating them... and that’s the point of the rule, to bridge the gap.
If at the end of the season, if you can say you were the 2nd/3rd/4th best team in Class 3 after moving up two classes, I’d say that’s a pretty damn good year all things considered.
Valle is going to have to step up their regular season strength of schedule(which I know is difficult to do considering nobody in SEMO or anywhere near would want to play them in the regular season) but other than BO and St Mary’s which are two top 5 teams, Valle wasn’t tested. And that’s a testament to how good Valle really is. I think Class 3 is a good fit for Valle. But they would probably be in more state championships in Class 2.

Thanks for the kind words about Valle. Win or lose the fans will celebrate and support the team.

I think Wild1 was expressing the general feeling of Valle fans. It is like the teacher who punishes the whole class when just several students were misbehaving.

No one in Ste. Gen likes what the private schools in StL are doing. To their credit the parents of Valle’s football team players encouraged them to not be negative but rather to accept the designation and view it as a challenge. Judd always says that there are more important things in life than a football game. Probably hard for 17/18 year old kids to understand that now, but they will. Then again, me and WIld1 are still struggling with that at our age....lol

I would have loved to have been a fly in someone’s hair when MSHSAA was discussing the success rule and how many times Valle’s name came up. We are well aware of what MOST (not all) of the Class 1 teams thought of Valle.

Pancho, grab the roster and investigate it if you want to. We played Valle a few times in the play offs before. Games were always played the right way by them. They do things the right way. STAMP IT.... Valle is all class, win or lose. It is unfortunate for them they have to play up in Class 3, but they will be just fine. I remember when they tried to give Coach Lathrop the wins that Pembroke Hill had to forfeit in basketball. He did not want them. His thought was, it did not matter what they had done, they beat him on the court and they lost! Period.. Best of luck to Valle

I played against Valle 4 times in the early 90's, very familiar with the program. I know they have had multiple years of Schilli, Viox, Basler, Grass, Fallert, etc. names, and obviously aren't recruiting bus loads of kids from St. Louis and Cape. I still have a few bad memories of Mike Monia running right past me. Just wondering how many kids they have that aren't from Ste. Gen. FWIW, the roster doesn't say Johnny Jones from Perryville.
