Well we will have a Missouri school playing after all.

SLU will be tough next year with the recruits they have coming in.

WashMOSports, are you lobbying for a Missouri-St. Louis U game next year. @ St. Louis U. in 2020 and Missouri in 2021. Missouri is losing Jordan Geist their leading scorer. Geist's 15 PPG will be difficult to replace.

God job Travis Ford.

No I wasn’t. But sure why not.

Why should Missouri play a team from a poor conference. Nothing to gain if they win, everything to lose. I've never been impressed with the whiny Ford as a head coach.

semo74, are you a Cuons man?

One reason for Missouri playing St. Louis University is for the fans. The Missouri Tigers have need to get some butts in the seats in Columbia. The Tigers have a losing record of 15-17 overall and 5-13 in the SEC. Did the Tigers " Over Achieve or Under Achieve " in 2019?

semo74, do you see the Missouri Tigers improving enough to be in the top 8-9 in the SEC in 2020?

Yes and for that matter Missouri State as well, especially now that the 3 Rock Bridge stars are heading to Missouri State. That would certainly draw some interest in the Columbia and Springfield areas for sure. Like to see a home and home, but probably will never happen for neither SLU or MO State.

He is a man, he doesn't whine. I have respect for him, but not Ford. He has always been a big time tool.

semo74, I'll ask you again, did Cuons Martin and Porter Jr. " Over achieve or under achieve this year with the Missouri Tigers? The other question was " How many years will it take Martin and Porter Jr. to have Missouri in the top 8 in the SEC? I doubt you are anyone on this board will answer the above two questions. Try to answer the above two questions without using excuses?

How do you answer those questions, metro?

One. Did it the first year.

BearsCountry, you are correct on Cuons first year. Credit to the Cuons and Porter Sr. on the 6th place finish.

Here are Cuons and Porter Sr. SEC record for the past two years.

2018-------SEC record---10-8-------6th place ( First year )
2019-------SEC record----5-13------12th place ( Second year ) This is a severe drop from year one ---year two---------( No excuses )
Overall SEC record-----15-21 for two seasons.

BearsCountry, semo74 and others, Did Missouri " Over Achieve or Under Achieve " in 2019 and when do you guys expect the Missouri Tigers back in the top eight in the SEC?
Cuons ----Year 3------2020
Cuons---- Year 4------2021
Couns---- Year 4------2022
Cuons---- Year 5------2023
Couns---- Year 6------2024
Couns---- Year 7------2025

Just tell me what you want me to say or say it yourself. You are an overachiever in asking questions. I just have to say it old timer, have it your way.

Didn’t he ask you those same questions a couple of weeks ago?

Losing best player possibly played a role In12th place finish. Metro you actually Coached?

Is it possible to post without an excuse? Most every team in the SEC had missing players for various reasons.

I'll answer my own question, The Missouri Tigers did indeed " Under Achieve " this past year. The Tigers will not be in the NCAA or the NIT this year. The NCAA has 68 teams and the NIT has 32 teams. We have 100 college teams playing this week or next.

We only have a very few " Power Five " Universities not playing this week.

Let me ask you all again. Is Cuououns and Porters "over or under achieving" at Mizzour. How long before he has his team in the best four sevenths of the SEC. He is making by certain calculations half a million dollars per seventh. Are you in agreement with this salary? I was coach of the freshman JV team at the oldest high school in Missouri in the 1970s. I have showed you mine, now show me yours.

I thought the Tigers finished exactly where I thought they would finish this season. They didn't have much experience coming back besides Geist and Puryear. I believe next year they will finish around the top 8 and be a bubble team for the big dance. The young core of Watson, Pickett, Pinson & Tilmon should continue to get better and I'm hoping for a healthy Mark Smith along with an eligible Dru Smith to really help out. That's a pretty good 6 returning.

Yes, in a slightly different manner. He might think Tony Irons should replace Counzo or something like that, but that won't happen. I think I made it clear that I am a fan of Martin, and that I think he will turn the ship around sooner than later. If you couldn't see the improvement late of a couple of the important pieces then I would question his basketball knowledge. Tilmon is an enigma wrapped in a puzzle packed in mystery. If anybody can unlock his potential they will have something, but he may be unreachable.

The crusade continues.

I think Coach Martin is an average coach and recruiter. I expect Mizzou to be mid-pack in the SEC next year and around there most of the time. Some years better some years worse. That will be right in line with what Mizzou has been the last 20+ years. And right in line with most P5 programs. It takes more then just a coach to take and keep a program at the highest levels. Mizzou has not had the required support to get there and I don't really see that changing.

The Porter moves were a reasonable try but unfortunately that turned out in typical Mizzou fashion. That's not Martin's fault. He hasn't get much use out of it and now he's on his own to build and sustain something. No one knows if he can or not because he's never stayed anywhere long enough to prove it. Hopefully he does here. Starting over again in a couple years wouldn't be good.

Losing Porter, they finished where I figured they would. Made it worst losing Mark Smith as well. Watson, Pinson and Pickett really came on late in the year. McKinney and Jackson are solid recruits. Should be middle of the pack in the SEC next year I would imagine.

Metro, you tend to beat a dead horse at times. We get it you don’t like Martin. I wouldn’t say he underachieved this yr. he finished right where most thought they were. Should have won a couple more but that’s college basketball.

In this day and age everyone’s reaction is to always fire the coach or problem. That’s the problem. I may disagree but I’ll never hope someone loses their job. Firing a coach in college athletics affects that coach and their family along with all the assistants and their families. How can one be so ruthless and want to ruin that many people’s lives because they disagree? Guess times and attitudes have changed.

And a coach or professional player is worth what they get paid! There’s obviously a demand for them and they got paid that much. I’m sure back in your day coaching freshman basketball there were many people that thought you weren’t worth the stipend you got paid but because of your talents you were able to get paid that much!

If someone thinks a coach is getting paid too much there is nothing stopping that individual to get into the college ranks and try their hand at it as well. Please let me know how that goes for you if you decide to do so because it’s not all sunshine and roses like most think

Rant over!
